My first traditional Omakase, and it was wonderful. Definitely in one of my top 5 meals in Chicago ever. The menu is set, but you can optionally purchase specials. We added the Uni, Ikura, and Numoguro… all amazing. Best Ikura I’ve ever had. The raw sweet shrimp might be unusual to some, but it was delightfully oceany and a unique texture. It’s very unique having such an intimate experience. The fish was all so fresh. I wouldn’t recommend to sushi noobies, but if you are slightly adventurous and want to feel like you’re in Japan… come here! Reservations were hard. They only serve 12 people a night, so we booked 2 months in advanced to get in on a Tuesday

First time experiencing Omakase Yume and left so happy. The space is intimate but the food has a ton of flavor. They do three seatings a night so it might feel like it goes quick but they pack a ton of great dishes into that time. Watching each dish be prepared adds to the great experience but on top of that the service is attentive. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

It was simple perfection. And highly recommend adding a few additional dishes and sakes.

Omakase Yume created a wonderful evening out. As we walked in to this tiny restaurant that initially appears plain and unfinished, we were rapidly welcomed and seated at the pre-assigned seats with our names. The simplicity rapidly translated into easily accessible close-up experience of Sushi with beautiful presentation, tasteful menu and presentation, and wonderful service. There are some add-on options, and I recommend to try them, even though the Wagyu experience was not the highlight of the visit. I think it’s just fun to complete the experience at this unique place with some options that don’t add significantly to the final cost. I truly enjoyed the experience, and hope to come back.

It‘s my second time visit Omakase Yume. The ingredients are kept at a consistent level, but the miso soup in the menu seems to lack some sincerity.

Great presentation and food. Wonderful meal. Intimate setting. Bit pricey but worth doing once. Service was wonderful. We were told that it was BYOB, however, were surprised with a $40 corkage fee per bottle on arrival. Would’ve been nice to know in advance.

Best experience I’ve had so far in Chicago’s omakase scene. The quality is outstanding, Kate our server was phenomenal, easy to work with, educated us on everything. I wish we could interact more with Chef, but it is a quiet experience.

For my ratings, I would say 3 stars means “it was enjoyable and I would not be opposed to coming back”. This honestly might be a 2.5 star place for me due to the price and expectation.

The chef is originally from Izakaya Yume, which is located in Niles. He’s been in the sushi world for quite a while. I’ve never paid much attention to him until he opened up in Niles. I tried it out and was a fan, when I heard he opened up an 8 seat omakase restaurant, I wanted to see how it’d be. To my surprise, it was delightfully a lot better than I had hoped for. The fish were fresh, you can tell by how tight the meat was. Everything was very flavorful, I can’t say that anything was bad. Only two things didn’t jump out at me and that’s just me though: Miso Soup (for obvious reasons) and the Ika (squid). I’m not saying the Ika was bad, just saying it could’ve been enhanced with some other flavorings. I’d give this place a try before it gets overly popular and you’re waiting weeks out before getting a reservation. They’ve been open for barely 10 days and I had to make a reservation 2 weeks out already.

Great experience and excellent sushi. It’s a small spot with 8 seats so you can watch the chef prepare all the food. The sushi itself was incredible- amazing flavors and fresh. The service is also really great.
