We came here for lunch. While the prices seem expensive, the entree portions are very large. I couldn’t finish my Ten-don. My wife had a very large Chirashi. Large cuts of fish. My minor concerns. The one piece of Toro I had was full of veins. The Ten-don sauce was too sweet for me. I will say the service was excellent and the minor touches such as the included appetizers were tasty.

Pricey, dimly lit restaurant serving generous portions of fresh sushi. The chirashi bowl is a hearty meal with plenty of fish, great quality and decent for what you get. Friendly service, food came out fast. Tempura was flakey and warm. Parking is a nightmare on the weekends, if you don’t luck out with a metered spot there are garages nearby. If you’re feeling fancy and want to splurge on some sushi definitely check it out!

OOTORO was delicious. I had the Open Omakase and it was fantastic. Each dish was excellent. The sashimi, uni, and toro (blue fin too) were incredible. In total, there were about 10 dishes/courses served with a dessert. Highly recommend, would order again.

I enjoy eating Ootoro Combo of Sashimi Salad and Grilled Miso Black Cod which is really good!! The inside is nice but it is a little dark but they have lamps when you sit down. So my Mom usually get the Grilled Miso Black Cod for my Grandmother before she passed away. They also do Sushi if you want to eat. And service is good!! So I recommend going to Ootoro for taking your family or friends for a good lunch or dinner.

Nice ambience, attention to details, staff friendly and attentive, can speak Japanese. The quality of sashimi is good (for US standards). Sake selection a bit limited. Definitely recommend for people who wants to experience the taste of Japan.

….Where should I start? Definitely fresh sashimi and great service. The fried squid legs are one of our favorites. Cuts/ portions of the fish is way above and beyond average. They have the best Chirashi in DTLA, no doubt. In fact, it will be our future destination of Chirashi for lunch and dinner. Not to mention Suntory Draft Beer closed the deal.
