This is definitely a gold star hole in the wall. Great food run by a father and 2 sons. The spinach rice is awesome. The Greek tomato sauce had just the right amount of cinnamon and clove as to not over power. I had the Moussaka. Salad was a little over dressed but not bad.

Called with questions about the menu and take out. The woman was so kind and patient we decided to order out. OMG the prime rib was DELICIOUS and huge. It was honestly enough for two people and came with a fresh salad, potatoes and a roll.The gyro was pretty good, maybe 4/5. The baklava was super good. We ended up getting 4 pieces. The next time I’m in Alabama I will definitely be back. Also I was happy to know this is a locally owned restaurant.

I’ve been going to this place with my dad since I was in elementary school. Hasn’t changed one bit. Excellent chicken gyro and I love their fries too! Made to order and a great local Vestavia spot for both lunch and dinner.

Hate to leave a negative review because owner was friendly but we both got gyros and they came out with a lot of the pita being burnt and hard enough we couldn’t eat it. Hoping this was just an off day but the food was mediocre. I think it would taste better if the toppings and sauce were added after heating the meat and pita so the sauce doesn’t just run off the sandwich.

We did not expect Pappas to be open the night before Thanksgiving. We prepped food all day and were too tired to cook. Fortunately, we got great food and service at Pappas. Chefs kiss!

A friend of mine raved about this place to me ,so we has to try it out. It was great. It’s a hole in the wall kinda place and not very big, but the food was great and the owner friendly. We have a new favorite lunch spot. It was my first time to get spinach and rice. It tasted a lot like the old standby stewed tomatoes and okra to me, it was good.
