I am not a fan sadly and will be returning to my usual Jamaican spot. All of the food is just so dry..the beef patty, rice, chicken, cabbage. It’s just not giving what it needed too. I truly have never had such a dry and tasteless beef patty until going here. Portions are not that great in size. I ordered the large in the photo. However, the rice and beans are really good and flavorful. That’s the only thing with flavor.

We got robbed. Ordered a large oxtail thinking it was going to be a lot of food. Barley any meat! $18 for a large and there was very little meat. I basically paid for rice and cabbage. I noticed everyone was ordering kids meals. I thought I was doing something by ordering a large and contributing to a small business. I spent $51 altogether. I was robbed. Only reason I gave two stars is because the oxtails are seasoned well, or else I would have given 1 star. I’m happy to support local business but if I’m a spend big money I want what I paid for. You have to wait a long time for the food, however If I had received a large portion of food I’m happy to wait for quality I would have given 5 stars.

Firstly, I love Carenas, but my brother loves Queens. I tried it since he was treating. We both had the curry chicken. Now it was good and flavorful but toooooo spicy after three forkfuls I gave up. My brother ate his but was sweating and said, “Whew, it opens the sinuses.” Lmbo. Otherwise, I could’ve eaten it, but spicy spicy isn’t my thing. It’s definitely worth a try, but not a sit-down spot more. Grab and go eatery. Ooh I did love the huge sliced carrots in this dish.

Okay so the food is good, but the customer service and wait times suck.. the person taking your order is really rude. I would say hello how are you and she would say what’s your order? The wait times are super long I think if you can order online this would make life easier, but sadly they do no answer their phone or take orders. I would recommend Carenas better customer service and quicker time to get phone. This small business has work to do.

I had to stop going because the staff has such a nasty attitude. We don’t deserve that after waiting and waiting to put in an order and for the food. Never again will I patronize such a nasty energetic place. Y’all got an entitlement attitude. If you hate people that much then shut it down.

The food is decent here . I am born and raised in Brooklyn New York . If you are seeking a place where the staff are super friendly , bubbly and not rude and bomb Jamaican food , go to Hungary eyes in henrico . Dumb good !

I am born and raised from the island and this food was soooooo disappointed. I’ve been wanting my oxtails for a while now. Just nasty no flavor on the oxtail also it was tuff, the rice was dry. No flavor at all. I will never go or send anyone there. Queens need some help bad and a better cook. Also called in my order and got there and still had to wait 30 minutes for my food.

I had the curry goat with extra gravy with peas and rice , cabbage. The goat was tender and flavorful. The cabbage, rice, and peas cooked to perfection. The side of fried chicken I give a 6 out of 10 . The chicken was dry and the need to use a different batter for the crunch . The sauce it came with was great and the only reason why I able to finish the chicken . The wait was not long for the food and I like the Jamaican grocery store vibes !

The food was excellent, I’m very picky about where I eat at. I’m bajan and a friend said the food here was really good. So since I was in Richmond for some shopping with my daughterand granddaughter, we decided to try it out. We were not disappointed. My granddaughter got a side of mac and cheese and I tasted it. It was so good and so was my curry goat dinner. My daughter loved her food and my granddaughter. I will be stopping here again when I’m in Richmond. Spicy and delicious and plenty of food
