Wait for a table was not long, place was busy, we were two and we were sat at the bar. There is a 30min time limit to sit down, but it is understandable because they are so busy. Tacos were large, saucy well cooked, and tasted fantastic. Elotes was well done, not too much mayo or toppings. Hisbiscus drink is okay, would recommend this place for anyone in the mood for fast, delicious Mexican food.

This place is a MUST VISIT!!!! We saw this place on an episode of a Netflix show Taco Chronicles. All the tortillas are handmade and fresh. Everything you’re eating is prepared with love for the customer. We spoke to the owner who said they “Cook with love as if they’re cooking for family.” All the staff were absolutely super friendly. The tacos are the best tacos I’ve ever had in my life! Great prices, great food, great people. HIGHLY RECOMMEND & IS A MUST VISIT!

Absolutely obsessed with Rubi’s tacos! Literally the best tacos in Chicago. I said what I said not going to argue with anyone. Not only were the tacos rich in flavors and textures the service and atmosphere are phenomenal! The restaurant vibes give exactly what one should expect from an authentic Mexican taco restaurant. This is the spot you need to be at for your taco and drink needs.

Authentic Mexican food. Visited because of the “Taco Chronicles” on Netflix. They have a variety of options to choose from tacos, quesadillas, corn on the cob, aguas frescas and desserts. I felt in love with their chicharrón quesadilla, well served. The handmade tortillas are perfection. The restaurant is small and has limited seating. Walked in and placed our order first and waited about 6 minutes to get our food. Service was very nice and attentive from start to finish. Would definitely come back and recommend.

Went in at 330 and it was packed but line moved quickly and food was out in less then 10mins. Al pastor tacos, quesadillas and elote were all delicious. Super authentic and great atmosphere

Went after seeing their Netflix special. There’s a line to get in and trust me it’s worth the wait. Make sure to check their times as they have a shared style space. The hand made tortillas are on point and the meat is cooked to perfection. Is it pricy ? Yes it’s pricy. Is it a place where you come here every weekend? Most likely not there is probably other places that are just as good and for cheaper but you will probably not have the hand made tortillas or the twist on aguas de orchata that they have. It’s a great experience eating at Rubis. They are super friendly and very responsive on their Instagram. Try this place out and you’ll find out why they are so special.

As seen on Netflix! If you’re a vegetarian, they have multiple delicious options for you to try it IS definitely a higher price than what you would expect if you visited him at “la gara” but it’s yummy enough to warrant a visit at least once. Give it a try!

I just got back from here. It’s a ten minute walk and it’s been open for a while but I’ve never really been tempted to go. So many other places in that area, anyhow.

I got these for my boyfriend to try and I just love the consume It’s Pretty good , I ate a couple bites of course. He enjoyed the tacos as well said it might be one of his new favorites . The cashier Ventedur(I know I probably spelled that so wrong ) was so nice and helpful , very energetic and fun to talk to. He gave me my consume free buttttt Only thing was he forgot to put my side of rice in the bag which I paid for . I was so into the conversation I didn’t even notice or check the bag until I got home . Overall Good job! My total was about $12-13 (2 Quesabirra tacos and consume )
