Stopped here on impulse. It was a great decision! Burger was done just right. Nicely seasoned and not overdone. Very friendly staff with quick service. Skillets looked delicious! Clean! Hole in the wall place with limited seating, but worth a small wait if need be. Only open for breakfast and lunch.

Driving down Old Highway 61, hungry because the place we originally wanted to go was packed, we passed through Barnum. I saw the Rustic Diner and asked everyone if they wanted to stop. Yes! So we tried out this tiny restaurant in this little town.

Family owned little diner that is beyond fabulous for quality of breakfast food. The real gem though is the small town friendly atmosphere (plus the best drip coffee I’ve had). Had two eggs, hash browns, muffin toast, and a blueberry pancake on the side. Everything was delicious and when the young owner’s daughter sweetly offered to refill my coffee, my heart melted. Highly recommend!
