There have been a number of iterations of Venezuela restaurants in Memphis. This place was also a Columbia mix. I wanted a little bit of everything. I got the sampler and it was simply amazing. I spent $65 here JUST SO I could have food for the next day. I got two large brunette aerapas to go and it was so worth the $10 price tag for the large one. Very fair prices. My only disappointment, as a child in my soul, was that they did NOT have Chicha which I was really hoping they would have. I would’ve paid anything for some, seriously. Lol

I bought lunch from this place through Uber eats. I ordered a Cuban sandwich for myself. The sandwich was hot and fresh, and quite big to fill me up. I actually ate the two halves in two different meals. It came with a bunch of fries. The fries were hot, crispy, and well seasoned too. I added some extra sauces ( green and red) by paying 1$! The sauces were nothing great, and tasted like just mayonnaise , with a little heat! Paying an extra buck doesn’t make sense to me for this. Otherwise the food was great, and I recommend the place.

Terrible experience. We sat down and ordered right away. 1 hour passed and we still had no food. Other tables that were seated after us received their food before us. They also lost our food ticket so they had no idea what we even ordered. They had two waitress literally sprinting around the place trying to wait on every table. It was a semi busy Friday night so logical sense would tell a business owner they should staff more people. This was my first time here and I will not be back!

The food is good. Some items are a little bland and benefit from the cilantro sauce they give you. My issue with this place is the service. I don’t really think it’s the fault of the staff. They are clearly understaffed. We went for lunch on a Thursday, and there was only one lady working the entire restaurant floor, and one working the register and takeout orders. They clearly couldn’t keep up. I never got a refill on my drink, and we had to wait a long time to get our bill. I was going to get dessert but we opted not to because we didn’t want to be there any longer. The waitress apologized for the long waits. The management needs to beef up staffing.

Sabor Caribe is an authentic Venezuelan restaurant located in the medical district. The food is delicious and the service is warm, friendly, and helpful! This was my first time trying Venezuelan food and my waitress was super helpful in assisting me in picking my food. She recommended the arepas and fresh passion fruit juice to drink and I’m so glad she did! All of my food was cooked fresh to order, flavorful, and filling! The arepas had the perfect amount of crunch and softness reminding me of one of my favorite southern things, hot water cornbread! Every bite was filled with meat, avocado, cheese, and goodness! I ordered a chicken arepa and shrimp arepa! I tried my best to eat both but it was so much food that I eventually just had to pack it up to take home! I really can’t wait to visit them again and dive deeper into their menu! Plus They have more cocktail options now so I’ll obviously be updating the review soon! Lol If you haven’t been yet don’t walk, run to Sabor! Lol

I cannot tell you enough how amazing the food is. I was pleasantly surprised how flavorful and fresh the food was. I highly recommend the Papas Locas, Churros, the Arepas and the Tequeños. Oh and the Cilantro (green sauce) is surely something to write home about. You will not regret this hidden gem. I loved it so much I bragged to my family in another state that we found this hidden gem.

Nice place. Poor parking. Staff was a little hard to communicate with. Food was interesting and mostly quite good, though some of it was a bit too exotic for my white boy taste buds. Didn’t really care for the plantains, which surprised me because I usually love plantains. The meats were all very good. Overall would recommend.

One of my favorites, been here several times. The arepas are always the same, crispy on the outside, delicious on the inside. The plantains are so yummy and perfectly prepared. This is not a fast food place, so you may have to wait a bit, but it’s totally worth the wait. I’d recommend giving them a try.
