I got to have lunch at Sabroso with my brother and his family. I have to say the overall experience was great.

Great small family restaurant. Top-quality authentic dishes, very-very tasty and always fresh food. House-made souses. Big portions. Amazing, friendly service. BYOB.

I’m from Atlanta and have been dying to find good authentic Mexican food in Chicago. This restaurant is the best Mexican restaurant that I’ve been to in Chicago. The carne asada was really good and worth the price. The chips and salsa had really good rich spicy flavors too & this place is also BYOB. I’ll definitely be visiting again!

Tiny little restaurant with about seven tables, some for 2 people, others for 4, 6, or 8. Appears to also have a very active takeout business.

We finally found salsa that makes our noses runny because they were spicy and good! We recommend getting the refried bean in the plates.

I got the California Burrito and it was insanely good. Not only that, it was enormous. It’s important to notice that they’re charging the same prices as other Mexican chains – but at Sabroso you get more food! The burrito was sincerely huge – and I loved every bite. Also, the salsa is ridiculously good. I’ll be back once a week now.

So glad we stumbled upon this Cali based restaurant. Food was “Tasty” as the name states. Our server was great, the portions were massive. We ordered chicken and carne asada tortas, Camarones al mojo de ajo, quesadillas and the California burrito which I’m adding a picture of. Definitely coming back.

This place actually brought me back to Mexico. If your from Mexico and you order either the green enchiladas or the mole and close your eyes when you eat it you can time travel, so somebody better order one or the other. The tacos were on point checking off all the things a taco should be. But Raul, our server, put this place over the top. Five stars isn’t enough for the service he provided. Needless to say, we will be back

Best Mexican spot around. Dine-in, takeout, cute little date spot…Sabroso can do it all! It has the look, feel, and prices of your typical Chicago late night burrito place, but don’t be fooled. Both the food and the staff at this place are so much better than that! Great portions and high quality ingredients, highly recommend.

Ate from here for the first time yesterday. It was fantastic. I ordered tacos and a full order of Guacamole. Let me first say that the guac was probably the best in Chicago. Yeah, maybe some will say that guac is so simple, which it is… but this Guac’s texture and flavor was perfect! Just a hint of spice, so subtle and so yummy. Mexican food in Chicago is not lacking, so many great options – but I’m a new fan or Sabroso! The steak tacos I ordered; traditional and sabroso style, were fabulous! I mean, you can’t get meat more tender. The flavor hit. It was just great. Only thing is they don’t give you more than one shell per taco, which it needs. So they fell apart. That did not hinder me, grab a fork and enjoy! We dug in so quickly that I really couldn’t take pics of the actual food.
