Sochi introduces Chicagoans to a more traditional, yet elevated take on Vietnamese cuisine. It all comes down to the hidden details, the extra steps that people may not even notice, that make each dish special.
The egg rolls, for example, are wrapped in a special rice paper from Vietnam, not the wheat paper most people are used to seeing. The Southern-style pho features flatter, wider noodles, while the broth is cooked, then simmered perfectly the first time and served to order. Even the toppings deserve attention, as the bean sprouts are cut on each end, and sliced jalapeños are replaced with a homemade chili paste.

This place is a hidden gem if you are looking for Vietnamese cuisine and is possibly amongst the best in Chicago! It was surprisingly empty for a Saturday lunch but the service, quality of food, cleanliness was all top notch. The pork dish and chicken curry we ordered were both delicious. The service requires a special mention , one of my best experiences in the US!

I can’t have gluten, so I usually I give a call prior to going just to make sure that there is decent amount of option, and I was already pleasantly surprised over the phone. In person that just continued as the lady that is also the owner came to my table to help me out with food and explain everything. I can’t say enough how welcoming and nice she was.

Excellent spot for a small group dinner. I was very impressed with the creative cocktails, especially the cold brew one, and the delightful staff. While everything we got was delicious, the short rib clay pot was out of control good. I loved the modernized takes on traditional southeast Asian classics. The minimal and modern styling inside made all of the focus on how great the food was. Highly recommended!

I recently ate here with my wife – and it was a really special dining experience. The atmosphere was approachable, the food was too, whilst remaining authentic to Vietnam. Really great experience overall. Came for a weekend lunch with a reservation but there were only a couple of other parties there so walk in would have worked. Beautiful sunlit aesthetic setting, perfect for casual meal or a slightly more elevated occasion. Lots of plants and modern decor. The kitchen area is exposed and open for guests to easily peep into. It makes for a transparent setting /experience.
