I didnt really like the mayo on the pork so I’ll know to ask for “no mayo” next time. The front wasn’t open which was really inconvenient. Overall the food was good at the prices were fair. Would’ve got 5 stars had the front been open.

Easily the best BBQ in North Alabama, and I am including Jim & Nicks, and the no longer any good Johnny’s (which was great back in the 1970’s, but has fallen to the bottom of the barrel, 50 years later) – the only thing I can deduct from this fabulous BBQ at Southern Hickory being a perfect 10, is that they (strangely) add mayonnaise to a BBQ sandwich unless you tell them “no mayonnaise”, which you certainly should. When evaluating BBQ, remember to specify, no sauce, so you can taste the actual FLAVOR of the meat!
