Bad experience for us. Food was ok depend on what you want to eat. Our chicken meat in the potbowl still has feathers on it. Not thoroughly clean. The darker skin waiter guy always hang out in the back and never check on us or refill our water. He then asked for tips when we only gave him 15 dollar cash and 10 dollar on our receipt because we split the bill to two. He still mad us and demand more tips. Only 4 us in our group. Never going back!

This is a combination of two restaurants – Chongqing chicken pot and Spicy Grandma. You can either order chicken/ribs/beef brisket hot pot which is like a stew or skewers. The dine-in service is good but really slow as they do most of their business with delivery.

Not very impressive on presentation. Other than the meat (e.g. trotters), there was only cabbage as vegetable without much color and taste.

Went to Spicy Grandma Kitchen on a Saturday around 7pm. It wasn’t super busy yet so we had no problem getting our party of 9 seated. We had a server explain to us how the hot pot worked. Prices were excellent. the soup bases were good (we had a tomato base broth and a spicy broth) and the ingredients seemed fresh. Very happy with this experience and would go back.

Service is great. But we get Dixie cups and Dixie plates to eat a hot pot.

As a Szechuanese who was born and raised in Szechuan, I would say this is by far the best skewer type of hotpot “chuan chuan/串串” in Chicago area. Although the service wasn’t the best, mainly because they were short-staffed, but the taste won.

Food was too greasy and slow service. They give you plastic silverware and no bowls for the soup.

GREAT FOOD! This place is great. It’s like a cross between fondue and Korean barbecue I guess. Honestly, I have no idea what I was eating but it tasted delicious and I would recommend this restaurant if you’re in town. Also, there’s a great little ice cream shop across the street that you should check out if you’re in the neighborhood.

Food taste extremely good, real Sichuan spice! The services need some improvement, the waiter yelling to someone right in front of me while trying to get my check ready.
