Subcentral is great! We stopped in on the fly and were accommodated just as we walked in. You can see the chef prepare everything just behind the counter, and he utilized gloves and a face mask -covering both mouth and nose- while preparing our food. The decor inside is very simple, but what’s to be expected inside a Greek-influenced restaurant. They have both tables and booths, their restrooms are clean, and the service is relatively quick. The chef even went the extra mile while packaging our food to-go and was sure to put our tzaziki on the side to avoid the gyros getting soggy. While checking out he mentioned that I’ve never had a gyro like his before, and he was so right! As an avid gyro enthusiast, these were quite a treat- I’d even go as far as to say the best gyros in Richmond! We will certainly be coming back, and very soon at that.

Quiet little Greek restaurant in the heart of Richmond’s financial district. Decor is simple and clean. Food is authentic. The owner was my server, and he piled on the meat on my souvlaki. I’ll be back to try other offerings. I love good Greek food.

I was gonna give this place 4 stars but this cheesesteak I got today was awesome! I came here yesterday and bought a gyro which was pretty good, but he handed me the sauce in a souffle cup and I could only scoop it on the top of the gyro instead of the sauce being throughout. But today I figured I go back, since I’m in town for the week at a construction site down the road. I’m so glad I did, I’m stuffed and satisfied. Really great toasted bread and steak was seasoned and chopped like I like. Great job guys!

The proprietor’s family has operated this superb business establishment for 45 years (since 1976). I had the best spaghetti with meatballs in my life: baked to perfection in a single-serving tin and topped with a generous portion of melted mozzarella cheese. SUB CENTRAL’s tag line is “Often Imitated; Never Duplicated!” The Owner of the good fast-food restaurant bangers easily in friendship with loads of repeat patrons across the counter. The telephone is constantly ringing off the hook with several take-away orders. I highly recommend that you satisfy your hunger by visiting SUB CENTRAL today.
