Menu

Dinner
Chana Chaat
(veg, GF)

One of the most traditional dishes on the menu! There are a million versions of chaat in India, ours is a riot of flavor & texture with chickpeas cooked until just tender merging with house-made yogurt to create a rich texture. Tamarind chutney gives a sweet and sour pop with added warmth provided by fresh sliced jalapeños. Topped with crunchy sev and chaat masala to really blow the lid off of a wonderful, vibrant dish.

$12.00
Manchurian Potatoes
(veg, GF)

A Superkhana classic. We like to think about it as Belgium meets a roadside snack shop in Andhra Pradesh. The Manchurian sauce is influenced by Chinese immigrants that were brought to India under British rule to work on the railroads. Crunchy, salted potatoes, creamy aioli, just a bit sweet, and topped with chives and sesame. Everything you need to cure what ails ya!

$13.00
Eggplant Bao
(veg)

One winter, we joined our friends at Middlebrow for a winter smoke out. We brought marinated cauliflower and smoked it for hours while drinking and talking around the hearth. So we had a bunch of this magical cauliflower to use. Yoshi was messing around with a Chinese flash fried Eggplant technique he learned from Glen, one of our amazing cooks, and came up with this riff, inspired by the combination of Kasoori Methi and Eggplant. Squeeze a little Superkhana Special Sauce on there, brighten it up with some Thai Basil and lime and BOOOM. FLAVORTOWN.

$14.00
Chopped Cheese Bao
This is a mashup of late drunken nights in NYC, where a chopped cheese always seems like a good idea, and a classic dish from Kerala. The recipe is adapted from the Kerala beef fry that Thom P. used to make when he worked with us (shout out to Thommy’s Toddy Shop) and Yoshi ushering in the drunken dawn.
$14.00
Mushroom Masala Fry
Garlic, Mushrooms, Peppers. (V, GF)

A lovely vegan diner came in and Yoshi created this vegetable dish inspired by a classic street fry for them. We all loved it so much we decided to keep it!

$18.00
Maggi Noodle Bolognese
Lamb, Beef, Achar Masala, Parmesan
$22.00
Pork Belly Vindaloo
(GF)
This is Yoshi’s white whale. When he lived in Mumbai a generous friend from Goa invited him to eat her mothers vindaloo. It was mind expanding, utterly delicious, subtle – not kick you in the face with chillies hot – and made with pork belly, the meat that is traditionally used in Vindaloo. Yoshi has been chasing that taste ever since, and this is the 4th iteration to appear on the Superkhana menu & features grilled rainbow chard with a dijon – methi vinaigrette for a perfect spicy/sweet balance.
$23.00
Chicken Xacutti
(GF)
Grilled Chicory, Asparagus + Red Onion Salad, Fried Sultana + White Poppy Dukkha
$22.00
Dal
(V, GF)
Braised Cabbage, Fried Idli, Kari Leaves, Scallions
$19.00
Green Salad $12.00
Green Bean Chaat
(V, GF)
Creamy Coconut, Puffed Wild Rice, Toasted Almond
$14.00
Mattar Noodles
Klug Farm Peas, Parmesan, Mattar Massala (veg)
$19.00
Lamb $29.00
Butter Chicken Calzone
Gunthorp Farms Chicken Thighs, Mozzarella & Amul Cheese

“Butter chicken was invented in Delhi. The calzone incorporates the two most pleasurable aspects of butter chicken, the sauce & the bread.” – Yoshi

$17.00
Superkhana Margherita
(veg)
Yoshi & Zeeshan’s love letter to slice joints. Tomato achar sauce, Mozzarella, Thai Basil. Classic, Perfect, Thats It.
$18.00
Palak “Paneer” Pizza
(veg)
Palak Paneer is a classic Indian Restaurant dish with Kari leaves, Garam Masala & Creamed Spinach that made that we into a pizza with Mozzarella & Amul Cheese. Finished with Crispy Shallots & Chile Oil. It’s a delight! For young and old alike!
$19.00
Beef Keema Pizza
We had this amazing burger night going as a remembrance of the good ‘ole Cafe Marie Jean days. It was so much fun we didn’t want it to end so we transformed it into a pizza & put it on our permanent menu! With Savory Achar Braised Ground beef, Dill Seed & Amchur Ranch, Pickled Red onion, Mozzarella, Gruyere & finished with famous Superkhana burger pickles.
$21.00
Spring Pizza $19.00
Chile Cheese Naan
(veg)
Traditionally Chile’s & Cheese are folded into Naan to create this delicious classic, but that’s too tame for our guys, Yoshi & Zee. They flatten this sucker out & load it up like a, you guessed it, pizza. Buyer beware, these chile’s are no joke.
$15.00
Cheese Naan
Mozzarella and Amul Cheese (veg)
$11.00
Naan
(veg)
Before Yoshi and Zeeshan met, they were solitary, alone, misanthropic & slowly descending into madness, agonizing over the same thing. How to make the perfect Naan. Zeeshan had been focusing on his bakery experience and Yoshi was operating through the lens of his pizza prowess. When they finally met, these two individuals who had been on the same path for so long, the beauty of their collaboration culminated in the ultimate expression of their friendship. A perfect Naan.

A great Indian fusion place with touch of Indian decor and brick loft style open space. We went for brunch – nice but limited menu. Our server Ivy was pleasant and efficient. Wanted to try their Dosa but it seems that it is a sort after dish with limited supply. Hot chai, Mango Lassi and Old fashion were up the mark. The small style Uttapam and Poha with egg were great and definitely recommended. So much has been written about their Parle G ice cream sandwich and yes it lives to its hype!! Definitely a place to return back to try the dinner as well!

One of the best Indian fusion food I have ever tried. The food, the drinks.. just awesome. One thing they could work on probably the people’s skill. I didn’t find them friendly or attentive. Otherwise just 10/10. Must try if you’re in Chicago

Loved the food and overall vibe of this place. Everything we ordered was so flavorful especially the palak paneer pizza and Manchurian mushrooms. Naan was fresh and so soft. Also, the Parle G ice-cream sandwich in the dessert was amazing. The dishes are medium sized and shareable, might need to order like 4-6 dishes for a table of 4 people. Would recommend visiting this place atleast once.

We loved our dinner at Superkhana International! We arrived right at opening on a Friday evening without a reservation and were quickly seated.

Loved it all. Amazing, laid back, fun, modern twist on Indian flavors. If you are a foodie, try this! If you like Indian food, try this! If you’re a foodie and you like Indian food, you absolutely must try this! I took my colleague who was visiting from India here and he said it was the best thing he ate while in Chicago. People were super nice and service great! Also many veg options, did not even notice until we were done that we didn’t even have meat, didn’t miss it at all.

Some of the best Indian food I’ve had. It’s tapas style so it’s small plates and shareable.

The food was delicious, but the price point definitely felt high. The best example of this is the $8 they charge for sauce plates. Dressed-up ketchup and ranch are still dressed-up ketchup and ranch. It’s definitely cute with nice presentations of food, but I was a little confused about whether it was trying to be refined dining or casual. $50/person (no alcohol!) feels high for Indian fusion. Again, food is great, though!

it was really good. The dishes were creative and light but filling. Would return. Certain small plates you can get (better?) at other places… But there’s a hook there. All the staff was great, 10/10. Very kind people. Good vibes, beautiful setting to eat din.
