This is a very good intro to Omakase. The traditional intimacy with the chef is mixed with a modernized take of the atmosphere (which they advertise – blasting hip hop, fast pace, etc). Good quality of the food but simple menu with all the common pieces. So if you’re just getting into sushi/ not the most adventurous eater, this one is for you. I would definitely recommend doing the extended version of the menu, worth it. We got the sake and it was great as well.

The vibes! The food! It’s an overall experience! $100 for 17 course omakase experience is such a good price! Definitely get the boujee omakase meal. The fish is so good and fresh here you’ll be left with wanting more. We also added the Big Mac which is wagyu, uni, toro and scallop in one bite and it was amazingly good! If you don’t like wasabi ask the server to reduce the amount they put on each piece. I love it though so it was perfect! Love the laid-back vibes too. Cannot wait to go again!

This is more than a dinner, it’s an experience. The 90’s hip-hop theme and music playlist gives this place a great vibe. Roman (along with the other sushi chef that night) are the best. Everything was delicious and the presentations of all rolls were on point. Roman made the night so much fun for all of us. We can’t thank Roman and the rest of the crew enough for the best hospitality. Definitely looking to come back again soon!

A 12 course omakase sushi dinner with wagyu, toro (fatty tuna), and bbq eel? For just $60? You can’t go wrong with an excellent deal like that, especially when compared other omakases in West Loop. I also loved the hip hop aesthetic. Highly recommend!

This was the most amazing experience. The coolest little spot with fantastic cocktails and the best sushi I have ever had. The service was top notch. Colleen and her team are the most kind and fun group. Will be coming back!

Great Omakase experience for the price. There were definitely some flavour profiles i wasn’t used to, but still very delicious.

Unfortunately my partner got nauseous after we ate here and threw up. I can only hope it was a one off event. We got the 17 piece course. The chef was great and made sure we had a good experience, coming from NY I loved the old school hip hop but I can see it could off put some people while eating omakase. I also think there was a slight leak coming from the ac because we felt water splashing on us while we were eating. It was a little rushed, but with only a hour seating time I understood. I really wanted to like it but I’m hesitant to recommend going simply because of our unfortunate experience. Also, I just remembered I put in a code from their website for a free sake shot and we never received that…

This was a rocking place for sushi. After moving to Chicago a year ago, I’ve struggled to find reasonably priced good sushi. This was it!

Fun, little omakase down a service corridor in Emily Hotel. We’ve dined at Sushi Suite, one of their other restaurants, for a special occasion and definitely found that experience to be more enjoyable. At Sushi by Bou, we were served all 12 pieces in under 40 minutes and left a bit underwhelmed, especially for the price with drinks and add ons. The size of the bites was pretty small and some were not very tasty. I would probably suggest my friends go elsewhere for omakase. Service was super friendly and good though!
