Delicious authentic Peruvian food! We tried the chicken fried rice, arroz chaufa, ceviche, and beef kabobs. The menu is big, with lots of options including some veggie ones and great Peruvian coffee.

It’s not the same place I remember a few years back. I was a bit disappointed in the food it was okay not great. The place needs to be updated. I went with a party of 8 for my birthday service was good waitress was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.

Chef Carmen Revoredo de Izquierdo is doing amazing things in the kitchen of this amazing neighbourhood restaurant! Having visited Peru in person, this restaurant truly is a great reflection of the homestyle tastes of Peru!

The place is very cozy and with the live music on Wednesdays it makes it even more enjoyable!! I loved every single plate, although felt that the lomo saltado needed some work. Aside from that, loved the place, the food brought me back home and will definitely come back for some more! Also, the Flan is amazing

Absolute gem hole in the wall. The food is so good it makes you nostalgic for your childhood in Peru, even though you’ve never even been there. You’re gonna wish you had an extra stomach it’s so damn good. It just cannot be overstated how good the food is! Ceviche was great, but for my money it’s gotta be the Tacu Tacu. Just a wonderful homey comforting twice fried beans and rice with beef and an egg on top tasting of love to match the atmosphere (which is intimate but easygoing). Prices are very reasonable to boot. You won’t regret it.

I was very excited to try this restaurant as I’ve never had Peruvian food. I was not disappointed, the portions are HUGE so you do get some bang for your buck. The arroz con pollo was tasty and very aromatic. I would pass on the tamal just because I did think it was dry and bland, my partner had the lomo saltado and the beef was cooked well the potatoes were a bit bland ish but the veggies added a great flavor. We will definitely come back to try more dishes!

While I’m waiting to pick up my food a black man comes into the restaurant to use the bathroom and one of the owners, an older Hispanic man, knocks on the door super insistently asking if the man asked to use the bathroom. He repeats this multiple times and the man basically just says no but I’m only using the bathroom. The older man then tells him to hurry and says you better not be shooting up and demands he opens the door. The older man is yanking on the door at this point. The dude opens the door, I have a clear view of the whole exchange, and is clearly doing nothing but the older man asks him what he’s doing. Obviously using the bathroom. I get that this isn’t a perfect neighborhood and that this has probably happened at the restaurant before but making blatant assumptions and being this comfortable being this discriminatory in front of customers is unacceptable. Chicago is a more open minded community but this restaurant definitely isn’t. I’m black myself and my skin was crawling having to stay in the restaurant, after that exchange, waiting for my food. I don’t feel comfortable ever coming back.

Great atmosphere and “hole in wall” restaurant. Huge portions. I got Arroz con pollo. They gave enough to have leftovers for 2 more meals. The chicken was very tender and flavorful. I would definitely bring people here next time. Probably the best or one of the best restaurants on Clark in that area, in my opinion.

Sooo many delicious choices! And definitely home cooked. We had to wait for our dishes bc they cook to order. Son got Guy Fieri’s fave dish- Lomo Saltado- he loved it, rib eye steak strips with fries and veggies and rice. I got Estofado de pollo. Exactly what I was craving- a hearty plate of stew. The portions are huge. Interior is small and full of Peruvian decor. We definitely want to go back.
