Stopped by for dinner after a stop at a nearby brewery. We didn’t have reservations, so we sat at the bar. We started looking at the menu to order at the bar, but a table opened up and we were relocated to a table. The ambiance was nice and the appetizers and desserts that we ordered were all good. There are no tips or service charges, easy to order using the QR code and service was great!

Hands down fantastic food!!! The mussels are amazing and addicting. Pork chop and steamed fish were both fabulous Andrea, our wait person, was fun, knowledgeable and helpful. We love Thattu and will be back soon!!

I loved this place. It has a limited menu (which I actually appreciate) and a ‘NO TIP’ policy .

It was amazing!!!!? Literally had the best chicken sandwich ever made!?! I paired it with the ChaaterTots(as suggested) and it was sooo good! Beets in ketchup ?! What!! So delicious! the super juice yet crispy chicken sandwich with that hits you with extra kick of buttery goodness. I am hooked! The ginger cooler was so refreshing too! Just all around perfect and I had a great time with my friend! Y’all they are working hard to make this food amazingly delicious my friend loved her Coriander Chicken Curry too!! Came back today for more delicious memories had to try the Fish Fry!!

It was my first time dining at the new location but I have had the food many a time of the years from their popups. It’s so exciting to see their hard work and effort come to fruition in this beautiful space.

It’s more like Americanized-kerala food. Very Bland taste, limited menu. Not worth the hype. Not at all. We were party of 5 none of them like anything. Ordered – fried chicken, fish fry (more like Tilapia u cook at home) ,thali ,kadala curry (just avg),aapam is very thick slightly burnt. We paid around 200$ for 5ppl. Just bcz 15$/person cancelation fee and Instagram fake promotions We were tempted to go and it was the worst experience in terms of food.

I went to Kerala several years ago and this food transported me back. One of the best meals we’ve had in a while. There are many south Indian restaurants in Chicago but Thattu was unique. Not only because it’s Malayalam / Keralite food, but also because it tasted so fresh like home food, not heavy or oily. The chicken bites and chaater tots are creative and exceedingly delicious. I was nervous about spice level having traveled in South India and Kerala quite a bit – nothing we had was too spicy for me (I usually cap out at medium; would describe most of the food as mild and recommended the yummy homemade hot sauce if you want to bump it up).

Seriously incredible and inspired Indian food!! Loved every bite. Apps, mains, desserts, simply amazing. Vinod and Margaret have created an awesome experience and I hope they continue to see success. Also, so many gluten free options!! I bursted with joy to have the fried chicken and fried plantains!!
