Overall a great place to grab a burger in the great north. Cheese Curds were great! Service was good, especially considering that she was the only server in the whole place. A little weird to go up to the bar to order your food though.

Food and service was pretty normal for a north woods bar. Currently no wait staff so you have to order at the bar. Not a bad thing, they were very helpful, just a heads up.

Had a great late lunch/early dinner at the black oak. Burger and chicken wings were delicious. Thank you for carrying a top notch Cabernet by the bottle and always enjoy the friendly staff! Will be back soon!

A nice surprise, our first time visiting.Great fish fry, and great shrimp. Good, simple salad bar. Fun bar, dining area. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. They’ve got an efficient system going without wait staff! All flows well. We’ll be back!

Food was great but drinks where short pours we had one tall and and two doubles and where charged $55 for drinks. Had pizza Cuban and Patty melt bill was $109 without tip. Also we were told turn video slot machine sound after $120 investment. Not welcoming environment after local recommendation.

I really can’t say enough good things about the “new” Black Oak Inn. The current owners have now run Black Oak for approximately 2 years now, and I really love how they’ve upgraded the experience. The lighting is more inviting, the bar is beautiful, the service is friendly, and the food is outstanding. We tried the Friday Fish Fry last night for the first time. It was surprisingly good while being prepared slightly differently from the usual batter one would find in the Northwoods area. This was more of a light panko or cracker crust style, but it was still crisp, and the fish was still tender and flaky on the inside. Not a HINT of dry fish here! The salad bar is small, but mighty! Big shout out to the pea salad! All of us loved it! Also, the cheese curds rival the best in the area. I know that’s saying a lot, but it is true!

Great place! It is s beautiful building with a Northwoods atmosphere. Beautiful bar and woodwork throughout the place. The owners and another bartender are fantastic. It was very crowded but we were served drinks and food in s reasonable amount of time. They all checked to make sure we liked the food or needed another drink. The pizza and chili are very good.

Very snowmobile friendly, with gear room including a heated rack for helmets. Nice atmosphere with large bar. Great food (salad, fresh chicken tenders, and huge burgers), and a nice drink menu. A must stop whether you’re on a snowmobile, UTV, or just out for a drive!
