What a hidden gem on the Southside of Richmond.. great prices, great service, great drinks. The food is over the top delicious w/generous portions. I had the Catfish trio entree w/Mac n cheese & collard greens & a roll. Everything was on point. I was disappointed in the roll(wish it were home made instead of packaged), there were other choices for your bread options. The servers were friendly & knowledgeable (gave us a history of the place which is interesting). The bar manager, Melvin, made delicious drinks & also was very friendly & nice. A great place to get the “itis” so be prepared to be full! They have a petitioned off small cigar lounge that is really nice as well. They offer entertainment on the weekends(live bands, karaoke etc). Highly recommend if you’re looking for a meal like mom’s

I love going to a restaurant and being supportive of black businesses. It was an issue when you were the only couple sitting, and it took 12 minutes to get a non alcoholic drink. This was on a Sunday an hour after opening. No one came over to check on us. I can deal with a minor mishap with my meal, but the customer service needs improvement. That is how you earn good tips. I do my job very well, and I take pride in what I do because I love it. So, my hard earned money can be passed to a waiter/waitress if they do their jobs right. I’ll rather do takeout than to dine in.

I recently visited for black restaurant week in RVA, and the food was great and the playlist was all the vibes. I did go earlier in the day which nobody was really there but you can tell this place mostly comes alive at night. 9/10 recommend ✨

Today I ate smothered pork chops, mac and cheese,collards and cornbread. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The restaurant is very spacious and clean with the friendliest servers ever. If you enjoy soul food this is the place to go to!
