Masala – Vegetable / Paneer / Tofu / Chicken / Goat/ Lamb / Seafood
Oftentimes, “Masala” on its own is used by food critics to refer to freshly made spices. Masala curry typically is a blend of onion gravy, tomato gravy, and cream, which gives it a smooth and rich taste. This is one of our staples, and we highly recommend it to folks who are trying Indian food for the first time.
Vindaloo (Not Available In Mild) – Vegetable / Paneer / Tofu / Chicken / Goat/ Lamb / Seafood
curries available that is still flavorful and aromatic. Primary ingredients composed of a blend of hot spices, red chili paste, and a dash of vinegar. Anyone care for Indian-Hot?

Flavorful food, great service, beautiful interior. Love that the menu items include recommendations for spice levels and accompaniments. The biriyani was maybe the best I’ve ever had!!

On the way to Luray Caverns, VA from Rocky Mount, NC and decided to stop at this restaurant for dinner. I searched on google for Indian restaurants in Richmond, VA and found a couple of restaurants with good reviews. Picked this one for dinner. Reviews did not let me down for the taste of the food. Restaurant is located in a busy area. We were at the restaurant by 6:30 PM and it was almost full.

Loved everything about it. I can’t believe I never been here before. It was a hard toss up between the biryani & tandoori. I went for the salmon tandoori & it was scrumptious. Had the sampler of appetizers that was good too. Choose the roti bread which was decent, probably won’t get that again but it was still good just not what I thought it would be. I was looking more for a dhalpuri so that was my fault. The host & sever was awesome too

Highly over rated Indian cuisine, ambience and service was good, but it’s the food that we came too eat which was a waste of time and money, tried the sarson fish, the Konkani lamb, which both tasted similar, and were sweet, the baigan Bartha was sweet too tasted more like jaggary, the chicken biryani was boneless, the garlic naan didn’t have fresh garlic, and the basil naan too was no good, not at all authentic, would not recommend this place, bad experience. The only positive part was the waiter took out the baigan bartha from the check, even though we asked him not to take it off, which is appreciated.

Great location , decent service (pushing to order without letting to settle down, not letting a menu stay on table, etc) but food is bland without salt in anything except for the salted lassi, lol.

My wife and I frequent Tulsi and love it so much. The menu has a wide variety of curries, proteins, and other options. My wife is a pescatarian and there are lots of options for her to try. I do not handle spice well, and often order “child mild.” The spice level ranges from my enjoyment level all the way to extremely spicy which some of my friends love.

When we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation. I wasn’t expecting that but nevertheless they were still able to accommodate us. The restaurant was about 80% full with guests and a few tables were not yet cleaned. The staff was very friendly. However, they seemed to be under staffed for the amount of guests at the time. The food was very delicious but it did take longer than expected to arrive (about 15 minutes after ordering) I believe everything thing was priced accordingly and overall I really enjoyed my evening here. I highly recommend and look forward to going back.
