I love this place. I’m new to living here and it’s my local tavern. Great food that’s well prepared and a nice surprise. Fun vibe with wonderful bartenders, music, trigia and open mic nights. My only complaint is that some of the local regulars are “snooty.” Not all, but some. Tonight I went in and sat down at the bar with a couple I’ve chatted with before and they literally turned their backs on me after I atrempted to strije up a conversation about the USA women’s worldcup team. Even worse, they contiued to glance at me. Uncimgortable.

Visited St Michael’s for a quick getaway and found this gem of a pub. Excellent food (especially the crab balls).

A well known Eastern shore establishment… This place is rich in history. It’s been a bank a jail a co-op and open during prohibition. Good food… It’s not a tourist trap… If you’re a local person. I went to college 1982-1986. I consider myself a local that was adopted.. good music good service and good memories

It’s a bar and restaurant in the heart of St Michael’s. Been there forever. Totally crowded with sight seers. It’s noisy. The waitress was fine and friendly. I had an orientalist chicken salad, which I get often at other restaurants. I expected something like Panera offers. It listed chicken, mandarin oranges, Chinese noodles, greens, and pecans. I expected tender chunks of white meat chicken. Instead it was overly fried dried out hot-spiced skewers of chicken that I could not eat. The dressing was even hotter. I never saw any pecans. It was terrible. My son had fish and chips. It was inedible but he ate it. It was almost black. It had been fried in old oil and it was bitter and the fish was dry. When we left the waitress asked me if I wanted a box for my leftovers. I said no thanks. She said, “Are you sure?—it’s delicious.” I said no thank you a couple of times. I did not bother to tell her the salad was terrible and the fish inedible and burned because it would have been like telling a Republican Christian evangelist that the Earth is not 6,000 years old and Donald Trump is a textbook sociopath. The waitress was very nice and the place is busy as hell. They must all have had COVID and lost their sense of taste. I left a 20% tip and reminded myself that if I ever go back I’ll try the cheeseburgers. I kept thinking what Gordon Ramsay would have done! He would have demanded the owner come out on TV and he would have berated and humiliated the guy. It was that bad. Your eyes can see the crust is almost black. That is not a taste issue.

If you are looking for a “local experience”, this is the place to go in St. Michaels. Great food, wonderful staff, and excellent entertainment. Trivia/karaoke on Wednesday nights, open mic on Thursdays, and live music on the weekends. You haven’t been to St. Michaels if you haven’t visited this staple.

My wife and I had a great experience here for our anniversary lunch. Tony took care of us with great customer service. The food and drinks were also fantastic. The only small negative was the men’s restroom downstairs which was mainly due to previous customers.
