So my friend and I decided to stop in after coming and visiting with her family’s gravestones in Van-etten. It has been about 25 years since we’ve been out here to this town and decided to stop by the local bar to get some food or to see if they had any. To our surprise they have great food. I ordered myself steak medium rare and tater tots, my friend ordered two grilled cheese sandwiches and two orders of tater tots. The lady in the kitchen that is doing all the cooking she is a great cook. The bartender is very friendly and the people in general that is here is friendly and this is a kickback cool place. We do also enjoy the scenery in the back when we went out for a cigarette Saw some geese and Hill landscape and beautiful clouds we also noticed all the decorations inside and outside of this place and it’s just wonderful and feels comfortable being here.

Great food and service. Atmosphere is scary on how much trump worship is in there. Didn’t know until we had sat down. It was worth a try but it’s super not our vibe. The regular patrons didn’t seem thrilled to see lgbtq+ people in there.

Great little place! I come in here for some take out food every so often and the cheeseburger is really good – surprisingly good for such a small, local, place. I haven’t tried the other menu options, but I’ve seen other patrons get the wings, and some other items, and they looked delicious. Fries and onion rings are crispy, good portions too.

One of the best experiences I’ve had in awhile was at the shoe inn, am a truck driver I stopped in for a bite and a drink with my aunt and the second we walked out of the truck a gentleman greeted us and walked us inside and everyone there from the chef, the owner, all the way down to the folks that live in van etten are such nice folks. Everyone was just so welcoming and very happy it’s amazing to see there are good amazing people out there like the folks that live in van etten!! Any truck drivers in the area I recommend you stop in and grab yourself a bite and if you ask they might even let u camp out there like they allowed me to sleep in my truck in there parking lot with my 53’ truck but there more then enough space to park so feel free to stop in the shoe inn is one of kind
