Overall, mid. The spring risotto was very good. The chicken fried quail looked and smelled better than it actually tasted. I wish it was actually crispy. The “kelp kohlrabi” pickles were a no for me, dog. Shrimp salad was decent, though you only get 3 pieces of shrimp and I am not a fan of warm salads and this one didn’t win me over. Excellent service, enjoyed the live entertainment, but the food was nothing to write home about.

I have to say, this was the best food I’ve had in the area probably in my whole life visiting. My grandma lives in SC and my family and I were there for her birthday. After an early bird special with my grandma where most of us didn’t eat much, I wanted us to go have a real meal and this was absolutely fabulous! My mom actually realized once we got there that the restaurant is owned by one of her high school classmates and she remembered reading about the opening on FB. After seeing such great reviews on Google, I wanted to give it a try. I was impressed by the seasonality of the ingredients and the creativity of the dishes. You’d think with as many farms as there are in the area there would be more restaurants like this, but there really aren’t! Every single dish was fantastic and they also has a really impressive wine selection. Can’t recommend enough and would love to go back next time I’m in SC. Scott was also such a fantastic waiter and was so kind and welcoming. Also so helpful in guiding us to make sure we ordered the proper amount of food for our hunger levels. Love this place!

We love to have Sunday brunches here and then go hiking in the forests around. The food and service are just great. The French toasts are to die for, but everything else is also good!

Wonderful restaurant with a creative menu that never disappoints! PGH is my go-to recommendation for restaurants in the area and, somehow, they get better every time I visit.

Never knew this was a restaurant as I drove by this location for many years. September of 2022 I came here for dinner and my oh my is this place great. I hear they did a massive remodel and it shows. This place is oozing with ambiance. Cocktails were top notch and the food was great. Unique dishes you won’t find anywhere else. Easily pops into my ‘top 5 nice dining places’ for the state college area.

For a celebratory brunch we went to Pine Grove Hall and we couldn’t have selected a better place. The flavors and presentation were delightful and creative, a real treat to gustatory and visual senses. I also like the classic American bar setup this place has, the ambiance definitely enriches the whole dining experience.

The food is fantastic. First and most importantly, the taste is delicious. And then the way they cook is very smart and adventurous. Fermented sesame paste with burnt cabbage; it is so yummy. Pasta with rabbit and chicken quail; they are all good. And pine cone for dessert, it is a delight. The music is a contemporary jazz, a perfect match for the dishes. It is highly recommended for people visiting this town.

I haven’t eaten here, but the drinks and service are top notch. Great atmosphere and the space is absolutely gorgeous. It’s hands down the best listening venue for live music in the area. I’ve never had a bad time at PGH.
