Fantastic, authentic Italian food! Everything is made with fresh ingredients. If you are looking for a true Italian meal, cooked by hands from Sicily, there is no better place to go. I’m from the Philly/NJ area and am personally thrilled that the Scolaro family have chosen McRae to settle their roots. Original Cheesesteaks, NY style pizza, the best appetizers, mouth watering entrees and so much more to try! Remember, all new restaurants have kinks to work out. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed. They take reservations, so don’t forget, they will be crowded especially on Fridays and Saturdays.

Great Italian place in the middle of Georgia. I don’t understand the negative reviews in here because everything was freshly made not frozen. Great atmosphere and very clean. You must try it if your passing through!!!

Well I’m not sure where to start. Decided to go out to dinner tonight for birthday with family. There were 4 of us ( adults ) and had reasonable expectations. With my family being from New Jersey we have had our share of great Italian food before. However that would not be the case now. My mother ordered the lasagna and when it arrived after an hour it literally looked like it was half eaten along with being cold. It was sent back immediately and returned with an equally disappointing lasagna also cold. My wife ordered the Cannelloni and it was room temperature at best and looked more like enchiladas. I had the chicken Parm and this was also room temperature with the cheese barely melted. For appetizers we had jalapenos with what appeared to be nacho cheese!?!?!! Wait staff were more worried about taking dishes that were still in use off the table to the point where we seemed to interact with all of them than they were about addressing the issues with DISAPPOINTING food. Unfortunately this was 2 hours out of our life that we’ll never get back. If I were able to rate negative stars I do it 100 times over! Save your 85 dollars and go to Statesboro and experience REAL Italian food ( T ).

The Crazy Tomato is a good local spot. Prices are fair, and servings are well-proportioned. It would be great if they stayed open later, but surely they are not getting the business in their location to justify more hours. Give them a shot!

This was some of the tastiest food I’ve ever had. Our waitress sherry was very nice and welcoming(as was anyone else) and portions are much bigger than expected. The little garlic knots they offered as soon as we were seated are soooo good. It has a welcoming and clean atmosphere. You can find them right behind village pizza. We will definitely make this a new repeat dinner stop.

Immediately greeted and sat I had high hopes that were quickly dashed. Even tho there were only 4 other tables seated at noon on Tuesday, it took well over 5 minutes for someone to come take our drink order. Our salads came quickly – the huge “house salad” was absolutely delicious! It goes downhill from there… The medium wings were VERY HOT! My daughter’s chicken nuggets were very crunchy (aka hard to eat from the batter being overcooked). The calamari – the batter was light and cooked perfectly but I don’t think it was seasoned at all, and while the tentacles were perfectly cooked, the rings were rubbery. The bruschetta – the flavor of the topping was excellent but the bread was so hard it difficult at best to try to bite. After our food was dropped off at the table no one came back to the table to refill our drinks or check to see if we needed anything… Not once… My daughter didn’t get any ketchup for her fries or BBQ for her nuggets. I brought home much of my food because I don’t like eating without something to drink and my pint sized mason jar has been empty of water for over 15 minutes and my daughter’s jar of sprite for almost as long. We had to get the lady’s attention from cleaning off another table to even come over to our table in order get our check and boxes to leave even tho we had our food for over 30 minutes… Was it worth the price we paid? For the house salad yes – for the rest of the food a solid no. We’ve already decided it’s highly unlikely we’ll go back even tho there’s very few choices of restaurants in that area.
