place doesn’t look like an Italian restaurant, it was dark but not like romantic way but as if lights were out in parts of the area, walls are patched and not painted over, place was really cold, portion of the food was not much for the price, worst of all food for me and those with me was tasteless. I get more in olive garden and is worth it.

We went to this resutrant to celebrate my aunts birthday and I had the Penne alla Vodka. The sauce was made from scratch and i could tell imminently . The service exceeded my expectations but these two things don’t come cheap.

So amazing. The inside is decorated simply but tastefully. Additional parking is available behind the building. There was a live jazz band and our server was sweet, attentive, and made good recommendations. The manager stopped by to check on us. Reasonably priced entrees. The bartender introduced himself to us at the table as he personally delivered our first round of drinks. I’ve never been there before but I’ll definitely be back.

Was here 6 years ago and left 5 star review as everything was perfect. Returning tonight for a dinner with my family was sort of disaster. First, the good: same great food. All people in a party loved their food. Here is where it gets bad. There are 3 waitresses for a small place, however non have any understanding of how to be a waitress (personally I don’t think they know they are in service industry). Water was never refilled, till I would chase one of the waitress. Table was full of bread crumbs and dirty dishes, which no one seemed to be interested in picking up. I kept stacking them as I could. Same drink tasted totally different, as second time it was prepared by waitress smelling bottles and doing her own custom concussion. Please keep in mind this is $30 per meal restaurant, so I expected different level of service, but did not even basics.

I love this place. The menu is great, the service top shelf, and the atmosphere is perfect for that special intimate meal with loved ones or a small business special occasion. I use it for meetings with my organization’s executive board and for occasions such as mom’s birthday, anniversary, etc. The owner, Jill, is always on premises and there to make sure your dining experience is perfect, and it always has been in my experience. Don’t let the strip mall location fool you, check it out, you won’t be disappointed, and you definitely will go back.

I tried this place when I was craving Italian and it is now my new favorite! Everything was delicious. The mushroom ravioli was amazing. The service was excellent and our waiter was very knowledgeable about all the dishes and drinks. It’s a charming little place and they had a live jazz band when we went. Overall it was a great experience. Can’t wait to go back.

My mom and I had our Mother’s Day dinner here. We had 5pm reservations, and were seated promptly. I’m being honest when I say I was hesitant to go knowing there are new owners, but those feelings were left outside the moment I walked through the door, and was greated by the new owner, Mimi. From the moment my mom and I sat down, to the time we left, our experience was amazing. It was a set menu for Mother’s Day, with many delicious choices. My mom had the stuffed chicken breast, and I had the Chillian Sea Bass. Both of our meals were amazing. My mom really enjoyed the fried calamari too!!! The service was supurb!! I highly recommend a visit. The new owners, Mimi and her husband Eddie are wonderful people!!! Wishing you both all the very best in your new endeavor. We will definitely be returning!!!

The food was great! I had the Seafood Diavola and it was outstanding! The drinks were well made and the atmosphere was very inviting. The service was a little extra but not enough to spoil the dining experience. A nice little secret exists in South River…I suggest it with excitement!!

Have always had a great experience at La Tavola Cucina. The food is great and it is a family owned restaurant. Jill the owner/manager has always been there which is something I really love. We had my baby shower here and they are incredibly flexible with menus and events and I would highly recommend for any kind of group thing that you are doing.
