Wow! I am so impressed! The staff here is so friendly, and the environment is so welcoming! It feels like home when eating their delicious chicken fried steak. Their dr. Pepper is also delicious…overall, I’ve got to say- it is absolutely worth driving over an hour for!

First time there from out of town but heard of it through local family. It was hard to find even though Peggs is a tiny community and wasn’t sure we were at the right place you have to go through a small side door, no windows I was told they have moved into the back of the building it used to be in. Must get business from word of mouth. Was greeted graciously and when I said it was our first time she said “well then you are in for a treat” so my expectations were high. Service was great but then it was about 2 pm so only my hubby and I and one other family. I had the Swiss mushroom burger and it was very good, mushrooms were freshly grilled. Went down from there. Hubby had chicken fried steak, it was small, he said just ok at best. I also had fries, very bland and not very many. But the biggest disappointment were the mashed potatoes and gravy hubby got. I tasted and maybe the most obvious fake potatoes ever and very little gravy for the chicken fried steak or potatoes and they NEED the gravy. Okra was ok only.

The food here is consistently delicious. From breakfast to lunch, you can’t beat it. I recommend their chicken fried steak and New York strip. My steak is always perfectly cooked and seasoned well. The wait staff is very nice, but not very attentive, but the food and atmosphere make up for the shortcoming.

Our kiddos thoroughly enjoyed the laid back and friendly environment. The waitstaff were friendly and the food was simple but tasty, a good home-cooked meal. We will be back for more!

They moved the restaurant to the back. The food is still good but the service was slow, made multiple mistakes and the soda was from a can poured over ice. They just moved so will give them another try later since the food was good.
