We heard a lot about Uncle Larry restaurant from watching Samantha Brown travel show and some online travel sites. We stopped by Uncle Larry s and we had fish sandwichs and one pork chop sandwich. The universal option was the food is good but not great. I myself have had better tasting catfish in Mississippi. We did enjoy our fried fish with cornmeal because it is light. I also had peach cobbler which was good. The service was good with great interactions with staff and customers.

Excellent food, service, price and good atmosphere. The menu hack is to order a sandwich instead of a platter. Save a few bucks. Likely the best fried seafood in town. Haven’t tried the Grilled option yet…

Great experience. Very welcoming. Made you feel like family. It was a wonderful time for me and my friend and family. The food was excellent. I was visiting from out of town for a event. I wish they would have used this restaurant for catering. The food tasted like home.

Amazing, traditional, southern, fried food. Fried catfish, shrimp, okra, hush puppies all off the charts good. My only complaint is they’re not open longer. Loved it.

Best fish I’ve ever had. My Wife had fried catfish sandwich and i had the steamed tilapia with slaw and turnip greens. Uncle Larry and his team are on top of it in there. We Will be back!!! Thank you for keeping serving your community so well.

Let me start out by saying, AWESOME, TOTALLY AWESOME! I went to the Brainerd Road location while visiting Chattanooga last weekend (I’m a native, born and raised). I got there just before they closed. I was still met with a wonderful attitude and great service. I told the lady that was my first time there, and she confidently exclaimed, “… well this won’t be your last time…” That was not arrogance, that was prophetic. That was one of the best Chattanooga-styled fish sandwiches I had ever had. I was served two huge perfectly fried well-seasoned whiting filets on white bread, with cole slaw and mustard – In not a hot sauce person, though it does come standard. From the first bite to the last, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Needless to say, I had to be back in town earlier this week, and guess where I went, absolutely. This time I went to the location on East Brainerd Road. I walked in with my older son. We were promptly met by Uncle Larry himself – super friendly. He engaged with several customers, making sure they enjoyed their food and experience. Great first impression; long lasting impression. Of course, the food was fantastic. Sunset once was my staple when visiting home; it’s now closed. Thank goodness for Uncle Larry, I think I found my new staple.

YUM!! Shrimp, fries, baked beans, and the red velvet cake…delicious!! Let’s not forget the hush puppies which were the best I’ve had in a long time! The waitress was really sweet and the food was speedy and hot! Do yourself a favor and check it out!

New place that has more seating than the other locations. Uncle Larry’s always has cook to order fish that is very hot to the table. Catfish are two very large filets and two sides. I have not had anything at Uncle Larry’s I did not like. Service is great with a very pleasant wait staff.
