This place is amazing! From the food to the service – I cannot express how great everything is. My husband searched for HALAL places in Maple Grove and this came up. The next day, we took a group of 10 cousins on the 25 min drive there and didn’t expect this to be a taco trunk outside of Lowe’s! There was enough seating available for 10 of us on the two picnic benches. I had my doubts about the meat being halal, but the friendly woman up front assured us that the chicken, steak and a few other meats on the menu are definitely halal. They threw in a coke and Mexican corn for free, which was such a sweet gesture. I’d like to give them a shout out because we put in our huge order around 7:30/7:40 pm when they closed at 8. They got our order out all at the same time 15-20 mins later! Wow, such fast service and not to mention everything tasted SO good! They gave us a bowl of limes and another bowl of raw radishes to share. The owners are absolutely wonderful. So glad we found a new halal taco place! We’ll be coming back again and again!

After craving some legit street tacos, I stumbled upon El Calentano del Sur in the parking lot of Lowes. I feel like God himself brought this place to me, it’s hot, fresh, authentic Mexican street food filled with flavor. I can’t wait to go back!

This place is actually tucked away in the Lowe’s parking lot but it was so good! The ingredients tasted fresh and it’s the best Mexican food my moms had in Minnesota! The beans and rice with the taco combo where delicious as well!

My sister brought me here telling me it’s her favorite spot to grab lunch. I ended up with a big chicken burrito that was super tasty! I could tell everything was fresh. If I see that food truck again I’ll be stopping by for some more. A very nice lady helped us. Thank you!
