First time eating at this location. We tried out the Wednesday special for $43 to go. You get fajitas for two along with the fixings, a small queso, dip, chips, rice and beans. They charge an extra $4 for orders to go.

The atmosphere at El Tiempo looks great. This is my final compliment for this place. My 1st visit here is my last. Complaints: 1. The restaurant had alot of open tables. So why did the greeter/seater try to seat us cramped next to a table with a large family?? 2. Why did The cook place a hot plate of refried beans right in front of my 1 yr old baby son? And my son immediately stuck his fingers in hot beans. No common sense. 3. This place messed up my order twice. I ordered a burrito and asked for the cheese sauce to be served on the side. Then they brought me a soggy burrito in the cheese sauce. I asked them to take it back and to bring me a tight burrito so that it doesn’t break apart. What do they do? They bring me a burrito that immediately fell apart (see the photo). At this point I ended the meal. I called the server. He was overall good at his job but then he tried to defend the kitchen and argue with me. I shut down the argument and asked for the check. He offered to remove my order which I accepted. I wasnt going to pay for that anyway. The friendly manager came to me to express her condolences to my experience and offered to make it better. I had to respectfully decline.

This place just recently opened up, and we were curious to see how it was. First of all, the service here was absolutely amazing. They have a cilantro-poblano rice that is so delicious. I had never tasted anything like it before. The beans were just okay. The parrillada had a mixture of some good flavors and others not as much due to the meat being too dry. Overall, besides some dry meat, the food was very good. Just an FYI, this place is priced a little higher than other Mexican restaurants.

The food, drinks and service are excellent. The atmosphere is not as nice as the Gessner/Memorial location. And they put us at a table literally in front of the bathrooms. Otherwise the prices are a little steep. That said, I would return, this time sitting at a different location in the restaurant.

El Tiempo in !! Katy !! Hand made tortillas, crispy chips and salsa. And.. for the win… beef fajitas! We would always drive down to Guessner or Downtown for this. Ta-dah we now have one so much closer now. The other dishes are great but if fajitas is your thing, this place is a must. We had Alex as our server this time and he was superb. Great, great service.
