North Florida Tasting Room
Found this place after reading reviews and wanted to try it. It is a golf club and when we arrived there was a golf club event going on and a buffet set up. They were nice enough to accommodate us with a seat overlooking the patio and golf course. The view was wonderful. Our server was great and we ordered a couple of recommended cocktails. Yummy! We ordered their nachos and prime rib French dip with side salads. They were changing the fry oil so we could not try anything fried but that was not needed. Everything was flavorful and well done. Happy from beginning to end.. and seeing some wild turkeys make their way across the greens was a fun treat!

I agree with a few posts that the quality of the food being served at AJ’s has changed, not necessarily for the good. Went for dinner last night. 3/4 of us ordered Crab cake dinner. Unfortunately we all agreed, no flavor at all. Very disappointed in our meals. Husband ordered “prawns”. Just shrimp, served over very soupy mashed potatoes. The dish DID NOT even look appealing. Our appetizer charcuterie board was excellent, as were our drinks. Very short handed, service wise. We will return for apps and drinks but will probably skip meals.

Update: this place Steals your money & adds extra money when they submit the charge if you use a card to pay, you better watch your account as I found the next day they submitted an extra $36.26 charge to our bank account! Our bill was $180.00 total (including a $28.20 tip) and what AJ’s submitted was $216.26! We have the receipt that shows charge of $180.00. I would NOT recommend this place!

The restaurant is in a gated community, you just have to tell the gate you’re going to AJ’s restaurant and they will let you in. AJ’s is a gourmet experience, every time I’ve been here the menu rotates and it is always exceptional. There are outside tables overlooking the golf course with beautiful sightlines and fire pits. There is also a full-service bar. If you’re looking for something different and don’t want to deal with downtown this an excellent option.

It was a little awkward to get there. And even inside the restaurant we were sat outside because there was a big tournament celebration so it was open to the public, but servicing an event. Regardless the loudness, the food and the drinks were excellent, but service a little slow.

We had a private taste testing to choose our company Christmas dinner menu. The filet was tender and delicious, and the mushroom soup was outstanding! The presentation was very nice. It’s not crowded and the service is always great!!
