Sad to see some bad reviews on here, as we’ve had nothing but a wonderful experience. We live in the neighbor and frequent La Mesa 1-2/month and whenever we have guests visit we make sure to bring them along. Everyone has always loved the food and the staff are wonderful.

Great dinner. Quicker than I expected. Got the cioppino (on special) and the LaMesa burger. Both excellent. The salsas we’re both delicious too. Friendly and efficient server!

LOVE this place. I eat here once a month and have NEVER had one thing I didn’t love. Appetizers, pizzas, mains, drinks and desserts – all fabulous!!!! Service and servers are amazing.

We have always had a five star experience with this neighborhood restaurant. Food is great, service is always friendly and helpful, love the music, garage doors are open to the outdoors and sidewalk tables are available, all making for a nice experience. The corn pizzas are a favorite for take-out on busy weeknights with no time to cook. And don’t skip dessert, they are culinary works of art!

I live in the neighborhood and was excited to have a sit down restaurant within walking distance! After an initial uncomfortable encounter with the hostess I decided to give La Mesa three more tries, which leads me to this unfortunate review.

Food was plain and under-seasoned, seafood overcooked, and portions very small for $20+ entrees. Mahi mahi tasted like it was seasoned with a taco seasoning packet and rice tasted like minute rice. That doesn’t even begin to cover the service, or lack thereof. And it wasn’t particularly busy so I don’t know what they had going on. Waited an eternity for our boring, expensive food and to get our checks to leave so we could never come back. Yikes..

I am an Ecuadorian and I love how the chef has all the plates look aesthetically pleasing.

Live music is wonderful! The service was slow. The food did not have enough seasoning. Location great.

The portions are kind of skimpy for how much they charge, but the service is excellent and if you order alcoholic beverages they don’t pour on the stingy side.

One of Minneapolis’s secrets that needs to come out. This place is amazing! Intimate and cozy vibes. Attentive staff. It’s menu is unique and tastes extraordinary. I’m surprised this place is not on the top lists for the Twin Cities.
