Lovely decor and atmosphere. Staff dress in spirt of German/Bavarian atmosphere. Relaxed and not rushed dining. Meal was excellent. Schnitzel was crisp and fork tender. Amble food and unique variety. Reasonably priced for the atmosphere and quality. A nice gem for Canon City!

Our first time here. Excellent food no and very reasonable. Schnitzel was great as well as all the sides. Great beer and wine list. My husband had a wurst served with sauerkraut and spaetzle. Highly recommend

This is the real deal! We enjoyed delicious, authentic german food in a great setting. Highly recommend the jagerschnitzel and the bacon-wrapped tenderloin. We will definitely be going back.

Wow! Tried Anneliese for the first time last evening. SUPERIOR!! Located at the site of the former Le Petit Chablis Restaurant in Canon City, Colorado, which we loved, we were not sure about what could possibly fill its shoes. Surprise!! The food was excellent! My wife had the schnitzel which was perfectly prepared, and I had the duck which was tasty and delightful. Portions were generous. The accompanying long grain rice was lovely as were the German vegetables. I didn’t realize that a German salad would be served before the entrees, and it was wonderful (green beans, cucumbers in a vinegar style dressing, and WONDERFUL WARM German potato salad!). Fresh bread, and a nice glass of wine and we were happy. We will be back!!!!!

Was excited to try, but it wasn’t what we expected. The ambiance was okay, but still a little “french” from the previous business. It was odd that one of the hostesses was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, considering reservations are preferred and plates are $25+.

We had family visiting and wanted to have a special dinner out with them, and Anneliese did not disappoint. A few of them have German ancestry, and they were equally impressed. Due to the size of our party, we were able to sample a wide variety of the menu items. All of them were delicious! Everyone was so surprised by the generous portions provided. Our server was so personable and responsive. He provided great service throughout our dinner. Personally, I can’t leave without getting a slice of schwarzwalder kirschtorte to go. It is a special black forest type cake that is absolutely to die for!

I went here with a group and had an excellent time. The staff were pleasant and the food was excellent. They even offered a complimentary bottle of champagne. This was my first time having German cuisine so I’m by no means an authority, but I feel it was authentic. I had jägerschnitzel and it was delicious. Also tried the Gurken-lachs-häppchen -without any clue what I was ordering- which were not exactly my thing but I still found them to be tasty.

We have been going to this building when it was the French restaurant for many years. We were saddened when they closed but understood life happens. We were overjoyed when we heard a German restaurant was going in. Anxiously awaiting its opening and finding a reason to head to the Canon City area took a little while, but we went and were not disappointed! Classic German fare, including the delicious “salad” of vinegared cucumbers, and green beans, and warm German potato salad. I had the Jägerschnitzel and hubs had a sampler platter, all very delicious. I read some earlier reviews and I’m hoping it was just initial opening hiccups. Our food was outstanding.

Good ambiance, nice transition from French to German cuisine from Petit Chablis. We had the trout and would say it could use more seasoning. The sampler salad was excellent! The Austrian torte was good.
