My new favorite restaurant of all time!! The food was so amazing we ate here 2 days in a row! The BEST vegan pizza I have ever had! The Mushroom Tartine was incredible! The sweet potato tacos and burger were a hit with the kiddos. There were so many delicious menu options, I don’t think people would even know it was vegan unless you told them because the menu was so diverse and impressive. Don’t skip dessert, it was amazing! THANK YOU, MIKE!

Caveat: We are not vegan or vegetarian. And yet, Mike’s Cafe has some of the best food on the island. And definitely the best food on this side of the island hands down. The sweet potato tacos and buffalo chicken pizza were delicious. And my wife loved the thai noodle bowl. The sauces on the food are fantastic and the food is super fresh. They have good beers on tap and the service is good as well. Highly recommend giving this spot a try even if you’re not vegan.

I love the atmosphere of this comfortable cafe with its beautiful tables inside and spacious outside seating. The menu is terrific and yummy and reasonably priced. for vegans, this must be a godsend! For a non-vegan like me, I enjoyed ALL the menu items I tried in the 3 times I ate there on my trip to Friday Harbor. And great wine list – try the limited supply left of the owner’s wines in addition to the perfect other choices he has put on the menu. Highly recommend!

I ate here one time for an early dinner and enjoyed the food. The pita bread was the best I can recall having. The watermelon ginger water was also really good, it’s from a can not homemade but I’d get it again. I had the hummus plate and jerk jackfruit tacos. Everything was good but not excellent. Being jerk-tacos I would’ve expected more complexity and spices but the dominating flavor was the roasted red pepper aioli which tasted like crema. I came around 5 or 6pm on a Saturday and it was pretty packed. The bartender seated me quickly and was also my server. I don’t remember his name but he was really nice. I’m not sure how many plant-based options are on the island so it’s nice that Mike’s exists. I wasn’t wowed but would definitely come back and try more of the menu. It’s packed for reason, I’m sure one of the other options would wow me.

Deliciously exquisite and superb vegan and gluten-free cuisine served in a quaint historic building right in downtown Friday Harbor! The menu is diverse and creative with devine flavors. They have lovely indoor dining and two charming outdoor patios to choose from. This is definitely our first choice as a local. Our personal favorite dishes? Their Sweet Potato Tacos and both the Szechwan Sizzle and Thai Noodle Bowls.

Mike’s Cafe and Wine Bar was a bit of a surprise to us. The food was delicious, fresh and ample. The beet/hummus plate was full of delicious surprises. We wanted to share two dishes, and the server and chef kindly put both into separate dishes for both of us to enjoy, versus sharing plates. That is great attention to detail! Our server was delightful. She was extremely knowledgeable about not only the food, but the providence of the local cider we ordered. Mike’s is a must stop if you want tasty, fresh food and comfortable ambience.

We had an amazing time at Mike’s! We love to eat vegan food and brought our brothers who don’t usually eat vegan – they were so impressed! The food was delicious – especially the mushroom tartine and the chocolate pie. Claire was our waitress and she was amazing – our kids were tired from the traveling time change and she brought them origami frogs and was especially attentive!
