I never expect mall based restaurants to be very good but I was pleasantly surprised by Nippon! The food was excellent and I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The place was clean and the sushi tasted fresh. I ate at Sushi Masa a few nights prior and enjoyed my food and experience at Nippon a lot more. I will definitely be returning!

I took my daughter here for lunch. We got there just as they opened. We waited a few minutes for the hostess to acknowledge and to seat us. There was only 1 other patron there. It took a long time to get menus and to put our drink order in. Our sushi entrée was put in and it came out within 10 minutes. It took about 20 minutes to get our check so we could pay and leave. But that’s only because I had to go interrupt the conversation our waitress was having with the hostess. The other patron didn’t seem to have the same wait time but, he was seated at the counter. The food is amazing and sushi comes out fresh and quick. I just didn’t like to chase our waitress down to pay her.

We really love getting osushi from this place. Best spot in the mall, hands down. However, the four times weve gone the waiting staff typically havent come back to ask “how is everything?”, Whether its busy or empty.

Chinese-American fast food version of Japanese cuisine. Nothing remotely like any food in Japan. None of the staff is even Japanese. They’re Chinese, which is ironic on so many levels and kind of awesome considering the history. But let’s give one detailed dish review: the ramen. The broth was some sort of spicy Thai thing. The meat was literally a big chunk of fat. The egg was over-boiled and not marinated. The noodles weren’t fresh. And who puts spinach in ramen? Weird. Overall opinion: If you want slow service and Chinese food, come here! (Our waiter was great but he had so many tables it was amazing he could keep up. They need more servers.)

This place is simply amazing. The food was fantastic, everything is so fresh and delicious and the staff is attentive and polite. My biggest shout out to this place is that my family and I were traveling through Pensacola and stopped by for dinner and everything was great but then when we left I realized I forgotten my debit card there and wasn’t in the position to go back b for it. I called them next day to ask if they can mail it to me and they did just that. I offered compensation for the trouble but they declined and still mailed me the card. They didn’t have to do that but they went out of their way to accommodate my situation and now awadays that’s big. Thank you Nippon for being awesome. Will definitely come back if our travels takes us back through Pensacola.

Food is just fantastic. The couple that owns the place put a lot of love, attention, and hard work into the design and atmosphere of the place and it really is a unique area especially in Cordova. I’ve been going here since they opened DAY 1 in the smaller venue right beside where they do boba tea now and am always happy with the food.

The server was great but the sushi was not. The sushi chef was quick and efficient but the quality of the ingredients was bad. Both rolls I had (chuck and spicy tuna) were salty and tasted off. When I said this they took it back and in front of me one of the staff ate the food I sent back (That’s gross I’m sorry but that’s unsanitary. ) They charged me for the chuck roll still which was ridiculous because I had 1 peice. Didn’t take much to figure out I didn’t like it. There are much better places to eat. Go literally anywhere else.
