M & J’s is a family owned business that does “Fresh” Southern cooking. We pride ourselves in our food & quality. We have fresh fried foods all day. The salad bar is cut new everyday. Trust me all the food is as fresh & as homemade as can be.
My dad, brother, myself & trained seasoned staff come in to put the best product on the bar that we can.
M & J’s takes great pride in our food & service. We are known for all our food; however, I really like our fried chicken, fried green tomatoes & fried whole catfish. Please check our revolving daily menu.

If your looking for lots of food at a good price, this buffet is for you. The decor is dated, but it is clean, the staff is friendly and the food makes up for it. The food always seems fresh and there is a good variety. The menu of what’s on the bar changes for each day of the week. The fried chicken is delicious and salad bar is fresh. They have fresh fruit and the tea is delicious. They also have desert’s including peach cobbler and a soft serve machine.

If you are going for quantity over quality, and you enjoy frozen TV dinners then you’ll like it. The fried (battered) food is made in-house. All of the other hot food is frozen food. I know a lot of restaurants are but I feel like they could have made it so much better. It tasted microwaved. The cold salad bar looked good but the lettuce was floating in about 4 inches of water so I didn’t eat it. The desserts looked like they have been sitting out for hours. The cobbler filling was congealed at that point. Decor is old but everything looked clean. It was so quiet when we walked in, almost too quiet. Would recommend a station without commercials and a little bit more catered to the theme of the restaurant, with a louder volume. The staff was very professional and never standing around. Always looking to stay busy. I am leaving 4 stars because I feel bad and I was rooting for this place but to be honest the food was more like a 2.

Great quaint buffet. Food is definitely quantity > quality, but above average for a buffet. Fried chicken and battered items were worth the seconds. Fairly decent selection, but check what mains are being served that day. Free sweet tea is an added plus.

Some of the food choices are good but others are just okay. The service is always friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is what you would expect at a buffet, busy.

First time going. Was a real disappointment. Food was room temp which was cool. Macaroni and cheese was totally dried on top. They said they had banana pudding but some had raked through this dry banana pudding I’m sure trying to find some pudding or a banana. It was just sad. Maybe we went on the wrong day but would be afraid to go back and try again. Salad bar was just ok.

I love M & J’s. The food is delicious, and there is a great variety. The servers could not be nicer…they work very well together and are always keeping an eye on their tables to see if anything is needed. The folks in the kitchen work very hard too to see there are always full items on the serving line. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and it is just people enjoying their meal and each other. I always recommend M & J’s to my friends.

I have lived in the area for many years and just today tried M&J. A blanket 3 star review doesn’t quite tell the tale, so I will explain. I found most of the food just ok, hence the 3 stars. The fried chicken, rolls, and fried green tomatoes I liked. The peach cobbler I loved, and would gladly eat it in quantity anytime – I would say a solid 4 or 4.5. It’s quite good. The ladies in this restaurant are working their tails off!!! The service level is definitely 5 stars! So all in all, not a bad meal. The buffet at lunch with a drink was $15. Great job to the servers!

Funny thing I paid for a takeout plate because I’m having stomach issues can’t eat much. I sat down and started eating my food at a table . The owner came over and told me I had to leave. I couldn’t eat takeout inside the dinner. That Chinese lady thought I was trying to steal food. But Kool I won’t be going back and I encourage all black folk to stay away from this tasteless soul food knock off joint. Chinese and Mexicans cooking soul food. Go figure

Food was better than I expected. Last time I was here was 10+ years ago and wasn’t worth coming back to. Apparently it sold and, while it wasn’t the BEST southern food I’ve had, it was surprisingly good!
