The concept of food trucks is one of those scary and enticing things for me. I feel like I am likely to die, and intrigued that I might find something unique and special. Big Beach BBQ fell into the unique and special. They sit along the road on the way to Mākena State Park. I normally don’t like fish, but the need to reach beyond my comfort zone i calling these days. To be safe, I ordered the combo tacos. One fish and one pork. My wife commented that she had never had cabbage on a taco. First off, from what I could see the truck seems very clean, the proprietors were cheery and pleasant. They shared their perspectives on island living. The pork taco was great, but the fish taco was even better! the fish was firm with a delicate flavor. The ‘hot’ sauce they provided was flavorful, but not too hot. I am sad I did not order more, but thrilled we stopped.
