Asked for crispy , fish was soggy. Hush puppies was a 4/10 but the sides was great the Mac and cheese was surprisingly good. And the homemade brownies . The young lady that took my order was very sweet. I paid for a bun I didn’t get because they wasn’t thawed out. Other than that I like the atmosphere very homie. I might try this place again one day just to see if it can be better maybe if I stayed in eat inside instead of in my car in the same parking lot I don’t know. But all and all I will give it another go and see if eating inside is better with the fish quality

Most of the time when we come in food is quick. Not today, we waited 30 minutes for our food while people coming in after us, ordered and got their food before we did. Take out orders were filled before seated patrons. There is a large group that is there every Tuesday, no biggie…but they take up ALL the tables.

This was a nice place, the service was good and so was the food. It was not very busy and I like that because I hate large crowds. The fish and shrimp tasted good, not over spiced and didn’t have either a tank raised taste or too overpowering a fishy taste. If I ever come back to Virginia, I’ll stop in again.

Went there for the first time a couple days ago. It was so good I went 3 days in a row! Had catfish and shrimp one day, flounder and shrimp then just a shrimp basket. I was never disappointed, great flavor and freshness overall. Highly recommend trying them out if you love seafood!

I went to the Bubba’s Shrimp Shack on the advice of some family members who said that they had good seafood while I am in town. Unfortunately, while waiting for my order, a mahi sandwich, I overheard one of the employees saying to another employee that I was a “rich white kid”. I’m not quite sure why he said this, as I merely had a polo and boat shoes on and was sitting quietly. I would like to point out that I am, in fact, not a “rich white kid”, but a normal college student with a job like them. Given that he was pointing at me as he said it from across the room to his coworker, I decided to throw the food away when I arrived home out of fear of it being spit on, because that is the only explanation that I could deduce given his comment and the pointing. I was even respectful, as I always try to be when interacting with people, saying please and thank you to them. I’m just disappointed, as it looked decent, but I couldn’t bring myself to eat it with there possibility of them spitting on it or doing something else to it.

051422 visit, 1 year later from 1st review and AGAIN so worth it. This tone i got pictures. IF you find yourself out this way, come here for some well portioned delicious food. You will NOT be disappointed. (1st review) Found this place as a 2nd choice. Should be your 1st choice. Food was absolutely delicious. Service was impeccable. So need a place like this where we live.

My mom & I both had the Whiting & Shrimp Basket for 15.99 comes with 2 sides and 2 little balls that they call hush puppies I mean like bite size like so small I thought they forgot them. The food wasn’t SEASONED nor was it FRESH everything was reheated and it even taste like it. The fries fish and shrimp. I was so disappointed because I had high hopes for this place it wasn’t worth the $36 save your money and go elsewhere.

Sadly, tonight I ordered the exact same thing for my mom that she always orders and the experience was not at all pleasant. I arrived 10 minutes after I placed my order online. The meal I was given was not my order and I didn’t realize it until I got home to my mom’s. Unfortunately, this is not the first time the order has not been correct. The food had been sitting for quite a while as everything was soggy. It was obvious that I was given someone else’s order that had been sitting for a while. Two individuals that were behind the counter were less than pleasant and looked quite unkept. The young lady was packing up an order and was in a conversation with someone and used a curse word to describe someone’s actions. Every time I’ve been to pick up an order the experience has been pleasant, although orders have been incorrect, but tonight was less than pleasant. Very disappointed. This is the only place my mom wants fish and I usually order 1-2 times a week. I hope tonight’s experience was just a bad night and not the new norm.

This place is a dive. Just kidding . The catfish is delicious. Love the little corn bits in the hush puppies. The young lady that took my order was very friendly and and answered all my questions on what I get with the different menu items. I will definitely be back.
