Stopped here for lunch while doing business in town. The prices looked good for a teriyaki shop. The service was suspiciously fast. The rice was nice and hot. The side of cabbage was, I guess… Boiled Cole slaw. Very weird and mushy. The meat, unfortunately, was cold and had bits in it that tasted rotten. It tasted like boiled bits of meat that sat around in a vat of lukewarm soy broth since last week. If I were a starving student at the university next door, this would probably be delicious. Is it so much to ask to have it thrown on the grill for a minute before serving? There’s gotta be a food service violation for holding temps here. Service minus two stars for asking for a tip on walk-up nods and grunts counter service.

I love this place! However, the cooked cabbage was almost cooked to mush. Normally, it is much fresher but tonight the fried cabbage was a 1 star. Normally, I would rate a 5 star but due to the cabbage it only receives 4. I avoid carbs so I only get the meat and cabbage and it makes up half of my meal. However, the staff were outstanding and very helpful tonight. Kudos!!!

I’m going to be honest with the public. This place is a quaint local gem nestled in the city of Independence. I was surprised at how good the food was for very affordable prices. The indoor seating was very nice and cozy as well. Only downside was that they are blasting AC and fans so if you get cold easily……..

Wish the overhead train worked when we went but the building as a whole is cute. Food was delicious, I wish the ratio of cabbage/ meat to noodle was a little more balanced. Way more noodle than cabbage or meat.
