On a recent trip to St. Louis, MO, we stopped by Charlie Gitto’s at the Hollywood Casino. Overall impression, nice restaurant, good food, good service … BUT, the casino is a venue where smoking is allowed, so the whole place stinks like stale cigarette smoke. We thought it would get better inside the restaurant, but it doesn’t. If your thing is to have a nice meal while inhaling cigarette stench … Gitto’s at the Hollywood Casino is your place. If you’re like us, and appreciate a smoke-free, cigarette stench free environment, don’t go here. It’s disgusting! I’ve known the Gitto’s brand for 40 years… cannot believe they allowed the name to be used here. No good, visit another location…

We ate there last Sunday. We made a reservation, however, ended up sitting at the bar outside of the restaurant and really enjoyed the service, the game was on the TV, they had smaller portion appertisers for the bar patrons, which was perfect for us because we split everything including the appetizers and all the food came out very good and hot and quick. The bartender made some fabulous drinks. It was such a pleasant experience we can’t wait to go back.

When Chef Chris has the time and ingredients and makes Shrimp and Corn Chowder, oh my gosh you MUST try it. I met him last Saturday (Jul 29) and told him how good it was when I tried it about a month ago. He made it again today (Aug 4) and I was there to order it. Yes and it was just as good as the first time I tried it. Kudos to Chef Chris! I’ve had other dishes here that are just as fantastic (Shrimp Scampi and Lobster Ravioli to make a couple) . This is one of me and my sister’s favorite restaurants.

Wonderful italian. Nice atmosphere. It’s inside the casino, so there is a bit of a walk. Easier than parking on the hill though. Had a Sicilian pizza and some great chicken penne. The real star was desert!! Cheesecake was so smooth! But the cannoli!! The best I’ve ever had!

Was there for a family birthday dinner. Barbeque chicken pizza was . The birthday cake was a celebration cake, which was awesome as well. Your water glass always has Ice and is never empty. The service was amazing. If you’ve never been before, the menus are separated. Like, there is no mixed drink menu, but a wine menu. They do have sodas but you have to ask. And the dessert menu is separate as well. All of which you have to ask for. But it was great, really great!

This place is amazing! They were super quick and there was plenty of supporting staff which was rare to see nowadays due to Covid. The Cosmo was probably one of the best cosmos I’ve had and I would say the same about the lasagna. Lasagna was only 20 bucks which isn’t a bad price for a six layer piece of homemade lasagna that taste like heaven.

Celebrated my niece’s 17th birthday here today. What a Beautiful Establishment! The staff was very courteous and kind, which is rare nowadays. The food was incredible….fine dining Italian! Located in the Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights, MO. My only drawback was the overwhelming scent of cigarette smoke coming into the restaurant from the Casino area. An overall nice event/ experience none the less. I Highly recommend the Lasagna and the Signature Spaghetti and Meatballs dishes! ( sorry I was halfway done eating before I realized I didn’t take pics of my food lol)

Very very upscale environment and atmosphere. Food was very pricey, but delicious. Chicken marsala was a little overdone and dry. Staff were extremely attentive and very nice.
