We are an independent full-service restaurant offering Cajun, Creole, and Southern comfort Foods.
We moved to the Mountain Home area from the Acaidian regions of south Louisiana.
With us we also brought our love of the foods that were available to us in our Lousiana home and wanted to share it with our new friends in the Ozarks. With that Cooyons was born.
Based on 770 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.7 stars. Price $$

After closing on a property I thought I’d try Cooyons, I’d been wanting to try it but never got around to it. I’m glad I did, it was delicious! I had the special, a SHRIMP BURGER, I forget what all was on it but it had a great sauce on it. I added a little Tabasco. Fries came with it. Everything was really good. I’ll be back for sure! The staff was super friendly and attentive.

Had the Beans and rice and a chicken sandwich. The beans and rice were very good and filling. Spicy but not too hot to not eat. The chicken sandwich was HUGE! The breast meat filet was tender and tasty. Service was good. A bit under staffed but was a minor issue. They are hiring!

We found Cooyons from the reviews during our weekend getaway. Every single one of them is well earned! These ladies work their butts off serving truly wonderful cajun cuisine. The bbq grits made my jaw drop. So delicious! The cat-etoufee and red beans and rice were great too. We have plenty of leftovers, but they will all be eaten!

Best Cajun food at a restaurant that I have had, and I am from south west Louisiana. Good to have some home cooking.

It takes a lot to impress me when it comes to restaurants. So many of them have, in one way or another, failed on so many levels lately. Not this one. The food was amazing! The waitress, Erin, I think, was very nice and a pleasure to talk to. The food won me over. I will return. Thank you!!!! Please keep the doors open!!

Most friendly staff we have come across in a LONG time. We talked throughout dinner to who we believe was the owner, who does a lot of the cooking and she was great. Food? Hard to believe but it was better than the staff was friendly! We will be back. Save room for the bread pudding!!

My husband and I came here on our honeymoon for dinner. The atmosphere was nice, and it was so refreshing to see the owner walking around making sure everyone was satisfied. She was so sweet and even told us some of the restaurants background and how she decided upon the name “Cooyons”. We ordered the ettouffee and jambalaya and were very happy! We shared a piece of chocolate cake and liked it, but it definitely needed something else in it to push it over the edge. Would definitely visit again!

Best dang cajun restaurant outside of Louisiana!! Cute wild pond outside, comfortable seating inside. Awesome artwork on display. Wait staff super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Fast service and very attentive to refills. Special bonus: chef’s personal red pepper shake! Delicious (but go easy). Large portions at reasonable prices. Highly recommend!!

What a wonderful surprise! We wanted something different to eat and not a chain restaurant. The owner actually waited on us and you can tell she is very passionate about the food she makes. We would definitely eat here again, the food was exceptional.
