This place… is amazing. I’ve walked by so many times, it always smells so good, and finally had a chance to go in today. Oh my goodness. The food is incredible, the service is outstanding and the portions are HUGE! The prices are also really good for the amount of delicious food you get. Also, a friend I went with is vegetarian and had several options to choose from. I’m so happy I finally tried it and can’t wait to return.

Amazing BBQ that reignites hope for Philly to be a spot on the map. The seasoning and sauce were not only delicious but also creative, complementary, and not at all overpowering allowing the quality and cook of the meat to take center stage. The corn pudding had a bit too much egg so became a scramble but it was still decent and I enjoyed it as a side. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu!

Walked by and got some brisket, kale salad and cornbread as takeout. Brisket was okay – was hoping for a bit more flavor. Kale salad had good intentions but there was way too much dressing and it was difficult to finish with it being too rich. The corn bread was a huge disappointment with a complete lack of flavor.

According to my son there’s no really good bbq places in Philadelphia until they came across ZigZag BBQ. He was excited to introduce us to what they had to offer. Their 1/2# beef brisket was tender & moist and the 1/2# pork nubs were delicious as served and w complementary sauces. I got more excited w their unique twists to the sides. Each had a creative flavor and style that made it fun to eat. We loved the corn bread w miso maple sumac butter, juicy minced cole slaw, queso macroroni & cheese, and sichuan style smash cucumbers. The latter two had a nice light burn.

I thought there might have been a mix up for a minute and had to double check my order- the portion for a half rack of ribs is HUGE. Like seriously I’ll be eating this for days. On top of that so tender and delicious. A million bonus points for being celiac safe! Extremely grateful to have this gem so close to home. Thanks Zig Zag!

Ordered a takeout today: 1/2lb of brisket, 1/2lb of pulled pork, a medium mac+cheese, and corn bread. Overall, great service with online ordering and easy pick up. I watched the crew package up my meal right in front of me which was nice to know it wasn’t sitting around waiting for me.

Zig Zag definitely zigs and zags in a world where most BBQ places are simply trying to perfect a known formula. It’s hard to describe the variety of flavors you’ll find here. Nothing is standard but everything makes sense. The flavors are both bold and well articulated. Everything is cooked to a technically perfect level reflecting the restraint of a master of the craft with layers of often bombastic flavor. Zig Zag is a world where the whimsy of hot Cheetos dusted Mac and cheese sits side by side with rosemary smoked whole chicken that belongs in any Michelin star restaurant. You will not find another BBQ restaurant like this.

Hands down the best BBQ in the city. Everything was delicious but the star of the meal was the ribs. Tender, juicy, and delicious. The sides were out of this world too. The queso mac had just the right amount of heat and the Mexican creamed corn was a knock out! I will definitely be back soon!
