What a gem! Beautiful little spot tucked away close to the waterfront. Parking is a bit tricky but what isnt downtown? Beautiful ambience and jazz music playing overhead. Cozy tables set with black linens and flowers on every table. The food was delicious and tasty. The owner greeted us and checked on us often. The staff was amazing. Saw this place featured on “Texas Bucket List” on YT.

Delicious authentic soul food. I hadn’t been here in years. Our supervisor took us here for a Christmas luncheon. So, glad we came. It’s under new management, but the name and quality of food remains the same. Husband and wife owners came over to introduce themselves and stated they hope to move in the near future where they can keep the same hours as other restaurants, right now they have to adhere to the office building hours. They are located in the basement of the Wells Fargo building.

Went for my first time thanks to Texas Bucket list for recommending. I have to say, I loved the sautéed cabbage that came with my fried chicken which was super fresh, juicy and crispy. Will definitely be back to try another dish and dessert.

Oh my gosh! The food was outstanding and the service was the best ever! The smothered pork chop, friend chicken and fried fish were over the top delicious and the sides were great too! This is definitely a “must go” kind of place but you better show up early or you won’t get a table!

Under NEW management. Food is great and the staff is very friendly. I enjoyed the experience and the decor is beautiful with awesome photo ops. Food is fresh and plenty of options. I was in Corpus for a full week for a traing conference and ate here everyday for lunch. Never disappointed and the onwers make yiu feel welcomed. Private gem known by locals but visit if you’re going to Corpus Christi, you won’t be disappointed. Affordable prices and home cooked food away from home.
