When I looked at the menu photos I was afraid the food wasn’t going to be good. I almost ordered a burger. I was pleasantly surprised when we were served fresh fish prepared with care. From the pictures on the wall I assume the owner is the server. The restaurant is rather plain but decorated with pictures of the owner on boats with fish I assume she caught. I looked over at the people next to us and the had a huge bowls of Moco Loco. I definitely would like to try that next time I visit the restaurant.

The first into my eyes are their uniquely custom made tables with Hawaiian maps! Also there are pictures of the restaurant owners fishing prizes, various large fish. The food are authentic Hawaiian style, very fresh and tasty.

Very low key and relaxed vibes. The seafood is super fresh and delicious. I enjoyed the kampachi collars – so simple, tasty, and fresh. The fish and chips were yummy, not too fried, and definitely the freshest fish and chips I’ve ever had. Thank you!

Visited J’s Fish & Grill in Kona and had a spicy poke that made me question my life choices! Shoyu poke saved the day though. Calamari was so good it made us do a happy dance, while the fish plate was like a casual fishy acquaintance. The rice played hard to get – dry and flavorless. We tried to beat the clock and ordered before closure, but maybe evenings aren’t its shining moment. Time to reel in some improvements, J’s!

Food has been so good every time I’ve been, and the prices are reasonable. The lady that helped us is always nice. Good to have another local place that doesn’t just cater to tourists.

Jen the owner was so sweet! The menu is very fish/meat heavy, but they have a vegan poke with seasame tofu, kimchi cucumber, and rice. She was very kind and helpful and the food tasted great!

Service was good, the lady was most helpful, though the food options were quite limited.

Great new locally owned eatery that feature inside dining, and to go orders.
