At our Florence, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I have been here at Captain D’s before and not so much impressed. However this time Brittany is the one that took my order and I noticed that she had taken everyone’s order to the tables and thanked me for coming in. She was on point she was working behind the counter and making sure that the eating area was clean and neat. She did a AWESOME JOB! Thank you Brittany for the excellent service!

I placed my order at the drive thru. The girl told me my order totaled $30.10. So when I pulled to the window she once again stated $30.10. I paid her and asked for a receipt. She said “it’s in the bag.” I searched my bag and the receipt was not there. So again I asked for a receipt. The girl said “oh here it is”. I looked at the receipt and the total was $29.10. I told her this receipt show my total is $29.10 not $30.10. She stated “anyone can make a mistake and I owe you a dollar”. My advice when you visit this location please check your receipt!!! I’m

I used to go there a lot until they raised their prices to $2.50 to $3.00 more for a meal. Furthermore, I cannot afford to go there again. In addition, when I called the customer service number I was told that this is the way it is due to everything going up. Really? If the economy gets better will the prices go back down? Of course not. As a customer to see the prices jump overnight just tells me not to bother eating here ever again.

This was the first time in probably 10 years since my friend and I ate here! The place looks the same, although the decor is a little outdated! We got there and they had a sign on the door that said they had no heat! Luckily it was a nice day, so heat was not needed. My friend ordered 3 chicken pieces, 2 sides and a large drink and it was 15.00 plus and I ordered 2 pieces of fish, 2 sides, a medium drink and a side of clam strips, and it was 17.00 plus!

The food was fresh, made to order. I had the fish and chicken meal. 2 pieces of perfectly fried fish and 3 crispy chicken tenders. You are able to order different sides if you don’t want the fries or Cole slaw. Can you ever have enough hushpuppies? I think not! They are divine.

I’ve always had great experiences with the fish and other fried items. Today I had the spicy 3-piece and it was delicious… fresh and crispy, the way I like it. My cole slaw was cold and crisp. I love the cheesesticks here as well as jalapeño poppers. The tartar and other dipping sauces are great. Kind staff here! You can’t complain about a small wait considering they are making your food fresh upon ordering.
