We were staying nearby for the weekend and wanted to enjoy some local restaurants. Found this one on google and they did not disappoint! Staff was friendly and the woman in the kitchen was so impressive to watch. You could tell cooking is something she enjoyed as she was singing and dancing along to the radio all whole absolutely crushing it in the kitchen. Our food was fantastic and the atmosphere makes you feel at home. Will absolutely be coming back if ever I’m the area again!

A wonderful little diner in the heart of Elkton. Good food and great service. The only knock is the price. We ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches, a side of potatoes, gravy w/1 Biscuit, and we both had sweet tea and coffee. Tab was $42 before gratuity . Comparatively, the diner right down the road has essentially the same food (good too) but the same meal only costed right around 30 bucks

They have buckwheat pancakes! Yummy! Haven’t had any in several years. They are hard to find. I also had the biscuits and gravy. For breakfast dessert ( ) I had a piece of coconut cream pie. Excellent place to stop!

After browsing through several online reviews of various local diners in the Elkton to Harrisonburg area, we opted to give Elkton’s ‘Grub & Gab Diner’ a visit. This decision resulted in a wonderful dining experience.

STAY AWAY AT ALL COST! This place is a tiny little hole in the wall diner whose owner must be the cook with a HUGE terrible attitude if you, the customer, don’t like something. That’s not the way to run a diner. I ordered a BOWL of grits ($3.50) with CHEDDAR cheese. They delivered a small bowl (the size used for condiments and side dishes) of grits. I specifically had a conversation with the server to ensure the cheese would be cheddar and she assured me it would. They served a shredded MIXED cheese of cheddar and who knows what white cheese. I had already stirred in the cheese before taking the picture, but you can clearly see some white cheese on the spoon handle. I decided to inquire about the cheese and small bowl size and that’s when it all hit the fan. I asked the server to take it back and remove it from my order. She said “I can’t take it back.” When I told her that I would not pay for it, she went to the cook and said, “Mama, she said she’s not going to pay for the grits.” Next thing I know, a woman (the cook) comes from behind, swoops by the table, snatches up the grits AND MY WATER! and keeps briskly walking to the other end of the restaurant. On her way back, I confronted her about taking my water and all hell broke loose with her lecturing me. When I told her she didn’t need to have such an attitude, her response was that I had an attitude from the moment I walked in! Then she just continued to loudly fuss at me. I was done being berated and treated like dirt. I left. BUT, one of the points she made sure to state, was that tax was included in the prices already on their menu. Then, when the other person who was dining with me left, his order was $10.75 on the menu, was supposed to include the coffee and taxes. They charged him $13.00! Whatever. Not only was his food “just okay”, not up to “good” even, they yell at their customers and then overcharge them terribly. Lastly, their menu items are deceiving as well. They are selling orange juice for $2 a cup and it turns out it is SunnyD (less than 5% real juice). If you care about what goes into your body, this definitely isn’t the place to go. Leave this place to the local yocals and find a real restaurant that actually cares about what they serve and how they treat the customer. CAN’T SAY YOU AREN’T WARNED.

We have been going to Elkton’s Grub and Gab Diner for 2 years now. Found this place last year heard about it from a staff at the Blue Elk Coffee Shop which is around the corner from them. Whenever we are visiting Massenutten we try to make it in for breakfast. The food is delicious and the staff are very nice and attentive. Seems like a very popular place for the locals it’s a small town. This time we went to the diner it felt like eyes were on us from some of the locals kinda made us feel uncomfortable. Once again the staff is friendly and food is good.

Cute little local business, guessing it’s family owned. Service was fast and friendly. Food was alright, $14 for the “ribeye” steak breakfast was not expensive per se, but the steak was very small and thin, and the potatoes were… Ok. Would return to support this local business when I’m outta food and feeling lazy on a Saturday morning. Some folks got lunch items which looked pretty good.

Went to this small town diner on our way back from vacation and let me tell you this place is so homey and just nice people and good country food I loved it the only bad thing I can say is the food took a little long but other than that it was good and the waitress was super nice I wish I got her name but she had blond hair and she was super nice great diner 5/5
