Man, let me tell you what!!!!! I have not had such fantastic food in a lonnnnnggggg time. When it comes to soul food, this is the best I’ve had in G.R. hands down!! Wayyyy better then 40 acres and Candied Yam….Everything was seasoned very well and the desserts were on point too.. The peach cobbler had a slightly burned taste, but it was still delicious. The staff is very helpful and pleasant to talk too. THIS IS A MUST VISIT RESTAURANT!!! One Love and keep the this lovely black owned business going!!!

I ordered the special “Smothered Catfish Dinner”, speechless…. like nothing I’ve ever tasted before . Red sauce meatballs , greens, yams, Mac and cheese, hot water cornbread. Awesome hospitality, great music. I was greeted by both owners, humble and genuine people. Today was a first for me, I’m coming back and I’m recommending everyone I know. If you’re in GR or Kent County and haven’t been, you’re missing out on life⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love this place I ordered from here for the first time last week and the food definitely had me dancing lol decided to order again this weekend I’m from the south and I miss my soul food and they definitely topped it to be in the city I love it will be ordering again maybe a catering soon this year for my 1year wedding anniversary

I was really excited to give this place a try. I must say the customer service is GREAT! The food on the other hand not so great. I ordered a fried pork chop dinner with dressing and Mac n cheese and I added a smothered pork chop on the side, a fried chicken dinner with spaghetti and Mac n cheese and a smothered turkey knuckle dinner with greens and dressing. The fried pork chop was not done, it is a thick piece of meat that needed about 5 more minutes in the fryer. The fried chicken was very dry. The macaroni was old and dry, the dressing was SO dry. The greens had big stems in them. The peach cobbler was what I was really hoping to be the savior of my meal, nope, it was a bowl of mush! I ordered the sweet potato pie but I didn’t feel the need to even try it. I think it would benefit this place to Cook less food more often to keep it fresh.

My Husband stopped in Today and Grabbed 2 dinners baked chicken dressing and yams horrible food smothered pork chop cabbage and rice with gravy was out of can cabbage taste was no taste 2 desserts one pie I’m not sure what to call it cake was green with a zing and pecans I think 1st time trying this place very disappointed! Oh yeah the yams was hard not sweet and the dressing omg was so much sage and I think dill but the chicken was okay out of the meal but that dressing shouldn’t be sold! I’m sorry for the review but This had to be told…definitely will not visit again

Music, food and service is A++!! The owners came to greet us personally with smiles and ❤️ I ordered Mac n cheese, greens, sweet potatoes, smothered catfish hot water corn bread and pineapple upside down cake and every item was amazing!! We will most certainly be back!

I rarely post good .. but I really like Southern Smoke. Farley new but so far so good.If you looking to satisfy your craving for your love for Soul food give this place a try. The environment was servant pleasing treated very hospital .. don’t like one thing try something else.. plenty to chose from. Small still growing!
