The atmosphere is authentic. The music is not over bearing and I could have a conversation with my companion without having to yell across the table. The server came by a couple times and checked on us. The food tasted very good the chicken in my fajitas was not dry.

This Lil spot here in Kinston is by far the best Mexican food I’ve had here in ENC. I’m from the west coast and the Mexican food is much different/better than it is here. I’m happy to report that El Nuevo San Juan has impressed my palate enough that I will be back to try something else off their extensive menu. Scott, the server, was absolutely wonderful. Margaritas were top notch as well. 10 stars to you guys!

1st time visitor Took a few minutes to be acknowledged by anyone while waiting to be seated, not even a “Hello” After being seated, server was attentive, food was fresh and veryyyyv fast. I do think the salsa served with the table chips was too “smooth” (I like my salsa with a few chunks). I had shrimp tacos w/ Spanish rice and lime margarita ✅ Atmosphere was cute ☺️
