What a fun and funky place! I felt like I stepped off the beach in cozumel into this place! First:the salsa is the best I’ve had in larryville. Second:guacamole is great (add salt and it’s better). Last:$5.00 margaritas!!! WOOT! service is extraordinary-ask for Alanah. We had appetizers and a drink but will be back for their food. Definitely a NEW GO TO!

As much as I would like to recommend, I can not. I love authentic Mexican food. The waitress brought chips, salsa and queso. The little dishes were half full. Why skimp? I ordered Chili Verde. It tasted really good, but there was far too much fat in my serving. Chili Verde is made from a fatty chunk of pork. So there should be some fat. But, half the chunks of pork I was served were fat. Not fatty; 100% fat. It seems like they are sacrificing quality to maximize profits. Unfortunately, they sacrificed my desire to return.

We were so excited to try a new place in town and it did NOT disappoint! It exceeded our expectations! The service was perfect, the salsa and queso were great! Our drinks were also great. And the food was even better than expected! Our order came out quickly, perfectly as ordered, hot and delicious. We Will absolutely go back regularly! I cannot recommend El Jimador enough!

The service and atmosphere are a 10+. The chips are hit or miss( 1st time: soggy, subsequently: only taste the old frier oil). Salsa is delicious, and its a new location, so you always get a good seat. Everything I’ve ordered has been properly prepared and the drinks are good, too. Also, the bathrooms are clean. Love this place!

I really liked the staff. The food was yummy but some of it was a bit bland (salsa wasn’t spicy, etc.) I liked that they gave us cheese dip with the chips and salsa. The cheese dip was delicious. We were seated immediately and got our food quickly. It was super hot and good portion size. My daughter did order black beans and they gave her refried. For Mother’s Day they gave me a free fancy cupcake! I will go back.

I went here for the first time today, and it was awesome. I’m usually suspicious of shredded chicken when I eat out, but the chicken in my traditional chimi was excellent. The service was fantastic too; our server kept our refills coming, and was so very patient with our indecisiveness and dietary restrictions. It was also pretty wheelchair accessible. Great experience.

Just ate lunch there today. The service was great. I had the first burrito listed on the menu, good portion and served hot which is great. My only complaint was the chips they give you when you first sit down, they were sort of stale and were not warmed up. Beyond that , enjoyed the food and will try some takeout from there next week.

I ordered the Birria Tacos, and the Burrito Bandera. The tacos had a nice flavor but they were cold upon arrival, and the consume was disappointing, not bad but it was chunky and tasted more like salsa. The burrito bandera was honestly probably the worst burrito I’ve ever tasted. The grilled chicken tasted like the grill wasn’t cleaned properly, so much to the point I could not force myself to finish it. The only thing I enjoyed was the complimentary chips and salsa. However I will mention my dasher had said that the staff inside was incredibly friendly. In conclusion, there are much better authentic Mexican restaurants in Lawrence to choose from than this place.
