Very disappointed. The macaroni had no cheese the rice was hard and I got some cheap gooey breaded chicken wings instead of real wings. My rice was hard as a rock I sent a Direct message to the owner on Instagram because the pictures he’s posting is not the pictures of the actual food he’s giving out. it seems like this place can be hit or miss I ordered it last year and it was good but this time was horrible I guess it all depends who’s in the kitchen and possibly what time of day it is since they ran out of cheese.

I visited Cooks for lunch today with my sons. I’ve been going there for some time and I’ve never been disappointed with the things I’ve tried on the menu. The kids also love the food. I ordered crab stuffed salmon, Mac and cheese and the kids had the bacon burger, which was big enough for them to split and fries. We also ordered the wings and salmon sliders, which is a new item. The salmon in the sliders was so thick and juicy!. Everything was on point and the prices are in line with the quality and portion sizes. The service was also good. The main difference is that the menu has changed and the kids wanted the fried shrimp which was no longer on the menu. I definitely recommend Cooks and I’m looking forward to trying the new restaurant!

The best in the Tri state area.I love the diverse menu, everything was fresh and the service was excellent! The portions are VERY generous!!The atmosphere is cozy & comfortable yet the food was that of a 5 star restaurant in taste & presentation! I will be visiting again very soon, I highly recommend giving them a try!!

Seen a lot of good things on Instagram abt this place and decided to finally give it a try. Definitely order ahead of time to avoid waiting too long as this place seems like it is always busy. Service was good as well as the food. Got a whole bunch of stuff to try. My favorite was the lobster roll. Honestly, one of the best I’ve had when you consider the unique croissant like roll and amount of lobster meat. Wanted to order sides from the soul food platter but was told that I had to order the whole soul food platter instead. That should be added as an option for folks in the future.

The Lobster Mac and Cheese was Exceptional.!!!! The Chicken Wings Fried to Perfection. Flavors Amazing. Got the Garlic Shrimp to go but the Shrimp is not Jumbo like listed, Medium size to Small.

I called to order for pick up they made me pay upfront then called me back 10 mins later saying that they don’t have what I ordered . I got something else instead and it looks disgusting . I called to see if they could help me she said to bring the food back and wait 3-5 days for a refund . Soo disappointed. I was really looking forward to trying their menu.

Great outdoor seating.You can bring your own alcoholic beverage. Everything on the menu was not available or they ran out of. I had the Salmon Soul Food platter which was served with salmon on a bed of rice and mac n cheese with a side of collard greens and yams. Nice portion size. My Sister and another patron had the Fried whiting Soul platter and found the fried fish lacked seasoning. No seating time limited. Overall we had a great time.

The atmosphere is very nice and the servers are extremely friendly. On the down side the music was playing way too loud, I had to talk very loudly for my family to hear me from just across the table. Another down side was that the bathroom was atrocious. I waited until I got home instead which was a 30min drive. I loved how they give a lot for your money’s worth however the food was underwhelming. I ordered the lobster mac and cheese and a crab boil. The mac and cheese was a little bland. The crab boil had overly spicy sausage, unseasoned corn and potatoes. I would’ve been nice if there were seasoned liquids at the bottom of the pan because sometimes with the shrimp in the boil I was crunching on seasoning. My sister had order this alfredo with crab stuffed Salmon and it was amazing! The alfredo sauce had a great rich flavor and was just the right amount of sauce. The crab stuffed Salmon went very well with the dish. For dessert I ordered a cookie brownie with ice which was excellent. The brownie was actually hot which doesn’t happen at a lot of restaurants. Overall, it was a great soul seafood experience however I will definitely consider my options before returning.
