So they might have great sandwiches, but I couldn’t quite tell my first time in. I stopped by at 2pm on a Saturday and they were entirely out of chicken, so we picked up a tofu banh mi – maybe not the best choice, but Dinosaurs does them well so we thought we’d give it a shot.

By far the best veg banh mi I’ve ever had! I added tofu to the vegetarian banh mi. The vegetables are acidic, crunchy, and warm, perfect with the tender tofu. The bread is outrageously crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Only wish there had been more jalapeno. Iced coffee is great as well. Total steal for just under $10.

Ordered on Doordash. The BBQ Pork meat in the banh mi was so delicious. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The rest of the sandwich though is eh. The mayo is really sweet and I like that. The carrot and daikon were lightly flavored, didn’t really taste them. The bun was not toasted or maybe it was and when it came with delivery it became chewy. This would not be my go to place for banh mi but it is enough to satisfy a craving. The Fresh Spring Rolls are such a rip off though. They were $7 for two rolls in an order. It came with shrimp, bean sprout, rice noodles, lettuce, and rice paper. There was no aromatic vegetables whatsoever.

Ordered tofu sandwich + fried egg. This is the BEST god damn sand which I’ve ever had in my life. This sand which is art. Literally can’t think of a single way to make it better. I’ve had 4 this week. Cant stop won’t stop. Excellent pricing as well. Its as if God sent down a taste of heaven. If you are elite, YOU MUST COME HERE.

Extremely disappointing shrimp rolls. No herbs or carrots or cucumber. Just lettuce and overly cooked shrimp. The sauce tasted bottled and not like peanut butter at all. Very bland and too sweet.

I went to Mr. Bahn Mi for a tofu sandwich. It did not disappoint. There was a short line but the service was quick, clean, and friendly. The sandwich ($5.95) was delicious and plentiful. The tofu was soft and baked probably. The vegetables were plentiful. And the jalapeño added a bit of zest to the Bahn Mi. The best part is that I took my sandwich down to ocean beach and had a marvelous picnic for one.
