The food was good overall.. yet the service experience was not as it was an issue to dine inside 30-45 mins prior to close time which was 9pm Katy Tx location…I believe that put a bad taste in our mouth before the food even was served. We almost forgot to take pictures for review. Here you’ll see Musubi, Lumpia’s, Chicken katsu, loco moco , macaroni salad and rice.. I highly doubt we’ll be revisting this location as we’ve had better experiences down the street at Maika’s Hawaiian bbq

If you are looking for something different, this may be for you. The person at the register was not helpful at all with suggesting anything. We ended up getting the katsu chicken and BBQ chicken. The katsu was good, but the BBQ was a bit sweet and greasy (compared to another Hawaiian restaurant we went to). The macaroni salad was nothing to rave about either. It was actually a bit bland for us. Overall, it was just okay. Give it a try and see for yourself.

We love L&L Hawaiian BBQ. However, We travel around an 1 he each way to get our fix of L&L in Katy. The food is always great and the portions are always plenty full.

Use to come here pre-Covid on my lunch break but recently something has changed and the food is not what it once was. BBQ chicken use to have a sweet crispy skin and come as the whole thigh now looks like shredded chicken served from a crock pot with a little teriyaki. Macaroni salad was bland, too vinegary IMO and did not wow me or have flavor like it use to. A waste in a $16 SMALL plate, and not so enjoyable meal

Order 2 mini bbq short rib plates at $16 each through Uber eats. $40+ total due to taxes/delivery fees. SUPER DISAPPOINTING. L&L used to be good once upon a time, but their quality has drastically changed. Each order came with 2 (not even whole!) very thinly sliced (practically shaved) pieces of “short ribs.” Plus, it was super salty. Both orders together could’ve been $16, but absolutely should not be that price for each.

Food – The food here isn’t bad at all, but for quality/quantity you’re receiving for the price, you’re probably not going to agree with the price. They used to give a larger portion, using the traditional white Styrofoam containers, but now the food comes in a smaller plastic container. We’ve got the chicken katsu rice bowl, and it’s nothing to brag about. The chicken doesn’t have much of it’s own unique seasoning, mainly just battered and deep-fried.

My wife and I were out on a date night and decided to have some Hawaiian food. The staff was friendly, the owner was pleasant to talk with, and shared a bit of history. The food was delicious and when paired with the atmosphere we felt like we stepped back to our trip to Oahu! We will be back and look forward to more conversations!

I would say it was good. The plate was lacking. Ordered the mix barbecue plate with spam mushubee on the side. The plate was overseased with too much peper on the chicken. There was too much chicken (slightly overcooked) serving and not enough ribs. The spam was delicious. The overall serving portion on the plate was enough for me but seemed a bit less food than I had in the past.

So glad they open this location!!! If these are the same owners as the previous place closer to Katy Mills, this is a way better location and probably will have more of the traffic this place deserves to succeed.
